Here is how I make them;

1) I make a run of 25 Power Conditioners from my equipment factory.

2) I make a run of 25 Energy Distributers from my equipment factory.

3) I make a run of 25 Generator Turbines frmo my equipment factory.

4) I take 1 item from each crate + resources and create Power contitioner schematic. I set the schematic to make 23 untis.

5) I take the schematic + resources + crates and put them in the factory.

6) hit go.

It seems like if set your schematic to 10 and put in 11 resources, you can get the factory to pull from a crate. I was playing with that last night. If you aren't comfortable with that, just pop all the goodies uot into the hopper.
