Thread: Crafting Stations Revisited
- public - the ones in the NPC cities
- private - the ones made by architects or by droid engineers in your "private" possession
If you open your datapad and look at the "schematics" tab, you'll see ALL of the schematics that you know. If you look at the higher complexity ones, they say something about a "private" station.
So the fact that some schematics require a private station doesn't say anything - one way or another - about the rating - it's an independent assessment.
Off the subject of experimentation and functionality for a moment.
Do any of the readers of this board actually use the hopper function of crafting stations? It is noted in the FAQ that in a roundabout way, crafting stations are the only 'furniture' pieces that can act as storage units, but since I've never used them that way, I thought I'd get some feedback. My only questions (as it takes seconds for someone to reply, rather than seversl minutes to experiment :smileywink
are:
1) Like backpacks and cargo pockets, the items stored in a station hopper count towards the item count on a house, correct?
and
2)Do thestation hoppers act more or less like an equipped backpack, allowing you to access resources/components without having to withdraw and retrieve them from a 'storage vendor' (which has been my soloution to the aggravating storage limit issue)?
I'm almost sure without testing them, that these answers are yes and yes, but if there are any folks that have anytricks, tips or horror stories about crafting station hoppers, I would very much appreciate the time you take for the reply.
Thanks.

The show resource stacks no problem. I have yet to get my crafting station to show crates. Items in crafting station hopper counts towards your house storage limit, so it really doesnt solve or alleviate the storage problem, other than saving you a back pack slot

Thanks for the reply. I'm less timid about putting stacks and stacks of resources in there now... the whole storage via a crafting tool's radial had me a little sheepish.

It should save some time on accessing my more often used resources, more so than getting them from a vendor and putting them back on.
Make house schematics contain a slot for additional storage modules! And save the snails!
They will show crates. For me they appear the first time I load them in, and while I am crafting at that time.... but it seems that if I walk away from the station, then come back, the crates will disappear from the hopper. I can fix it by unchecking the "filter items" box, then they appear, and I drag them to my inventory and back to the station. Then if I filter items, they will show up fine and allow me to load them into the tool...... whew!

Sorry if this is off-topic.
