Thread: Structure Pricing vs. UXP
I agree that we're going to have to be careful, but I'd say with the work it takes to get to even Novice Architect, and the amount of resources required, I'd hate to see any deed going for less than 10-15k each.
Can't we all get together on a server and figure out a baseline price to keep us at least solvent early on?
Can anyone post the schematic for the PA, including resources and how they affect the building, and do we have a cantina schematic? And do you only get UEXP the FIRST time they throw it up?
Thanks so much...
People keep saying money is not as easy to get as it once was...
As an artisan with Pistol II, I could do missions to buy(yes, buying them even if i could make them) deeds for 2 wind generators and3 harvesters(2.5k a piece), pay maintenance on all for 2 days, buy 4k worth of clothes, tip generously dancers and medics, and travel back and forth around the galaxy a good 10 times to pickup items in the bazaar. Not counting cloning and insurance.
So i spent roughly 25-30k yesterday, which i got in a little less than 3 hours.
Personally I think we shouldn't let people buy houses for the price of 3-4 solo missions. Even for quickly leveling, because they won't buy one everyday. Once they build it, itcould be months before they need another one. What will happen then, when 3000 of the 4000 players on the server have their house they got for cost in the early days, and we have 40-50 architects flooding the bazaar with deeds.
Yes player economy failed in most games, mostly because people give away their products to powerskill thinking: "When I'm master, I will raise my price and become rich." Well, we're not making cookies here, with a limit of 10 lots, people won't buy a house for each planet.
We're not in daoc where crafters get rich buy trinketing loot people sell them for half the price, what we do now will impact the server economy for a long time.
Please, think about it before selling your houses for cost on the bazaar.
UXP helps you get more skill but what about the day you don't need anymore skill? You undercut your prices for an (argueably) easier way to level and now what are you gonna do? Raise em? I would rather overcharge and bring them down once I didn't need the UXP.
My 2 credits.
Deed UXP is NOT working.
May as well get some cash flow cause there is no extra xp to be had.
I agree , almost at Novice now (will be by the weekend , NERF working nights lol)
I'm going for at least 10-15k a house (smallest one)
I want to level as fast as anyone does , but money is what I need a lot more of now ..
We work together , even though there will always be someone who ruins that ...

As someone who plans to buy a house, I have to agree that 5K seems a little low. I think as a baseline, calculate cost at 3cr/resource and then add in a 30% markup.
As I am not an architect, I don't know the total number of resources involved. Anyone know. If so, what does the baseline cost come out to be?
At that rate the price is 13K creds. I personally use 5-6 creds/resource. This puts the cost in line to 15K-18K creds.
YOU DO NOT GET UXP FOR DEEDS!

That isn't possible anymore, not by a long shot. If you are solo, and wipe a camp of NPC's, you might possibly pick up 200-300 credits out of their pockets. You could just as easily get nothing. Delivery missions now pay less than it costs you to run them. They are only there to help with the cost of you traveling to another town or planet.
Destroy missions are still tough. Some of them pay fairly well, but if you are grouped, you have to split the cash, and if you are solo, you may have to suffer a few incap's or deaths before you finish one.
Resources - yeah, you can sell resources. Hides, Bones, Meat - medics need these right away to make medicines. Minerals will soon be in demand as well. But with the number of artesians/architects out there, prices will be very very low. Take a look at the survey on the main page. Nearly everyone who is playing started out as an artesian. Supply and demand will dictate pricing - and I suspect for the first few weeks, there will be so much supply that you will have trouble giving away any product, no matter what it might be.
After awhile, when the skills balance out so that not everyone you meet on the street is an artesian or architect, maybe prices will stabilize at some level of profitability. Sooner or later people will need to turn in skill points to concentrate on the upper skill trees - that is when we will begin to see the economy working.
huh? Destroy missions will net you between 2k - 3k a run. Delivery missions will net you in the neighborhood of 2k round trip unless they have changed in the last couple of days. It only costs around 112cr to take a shuttle to another city.
I charge 10K, *with* all resources provided by the client, for a small house. 20K without.
I've been getting commissions at a brisk pace, with no problems at all. I've talked to my other architect friends here (Naritus server, near Tyrena, Corellia) and we all agreed to do business at this price, as to prevent undercutting and to promote a standard. Nobody has complained at all (everyone sees it as a good deal here) and we're all doing good.
The moral here? Coordination. Talk to your friendly neighborhood architect, TODAY! ![]()
People are still at it? Small houses are 12k, maybe down to 10k if there is another architect at the same bank as me and he wont agree to sell for the same price as I am. Medium houses are selling for 60-100k right now, so the 80k I charge is mid-range. I became an architect because it is the biggest profit availible. Players are ruining the idea of being an artisan if they sell their houses for 1 credit per resource. And charging 30k for a medium house will never happen on my server, I try to keep other architects in line. a small house is 3300 resouces, so 4 credits per resource is fine, more if you can, but whatever. With medium houses requiring 6 times the amount of resources, I will charge, and with the extra skill needed, I will sell those houses for a lot more.
I am a serious architect and I run 12 harvesters and 8 generators, because I made some marksmen friends place some and make me the admin of them. I need to sell one small house a day at 12k to even break even, and trust me, they keep on buying from me. I was competing for sales the other day wwith other architects and they would send me tells saying it was dry there. I informed them that I had sold 3 houses while they stood there. Point is, make a profit, dont be a smacktard!
