Have you seen the dozen or so long threads by him? I think you need to do some reading bro.

Oh I read much more than I post. Take this thread for example. Have you see a post by him here? Sneezy did this research and reported to us. Not our correspondent. The one thread Dvnce started about the publish 7 changes is dieing out due to lack of input from him.

Sneezy, thank you for careing about the profession.

no EVERYONE was not screaming for that.

most of us where screaming for more strcutures but got bored and lef the forums ....then we didnt have a correpondent and more stopped posting.

it makes me sick that 5 people post all the time and are believed to be representative of all the archtiects.

the stuff most of wanted that was renewable where destroyable structures for the GCW..like bases and turrents and base camps and walls...

we did not want to be making silly batteriwes for lamps

To put it bluntly its pathetic no one will buy them if u say have 50 torches in ur house and u have to replace them all weekly or so it wont be worth it! please leave it the way it is add new lamps but dont make them decay i dont plug a light in and have to buy a new one every few weeks in rl so why should i in the game!

Actually the lamps in my (real) house blow at a phenominal rate (at least one bulb a month!) .. amazed my PC hasn't gone belly-up

I'm all for the new lights! And to flame bait even more I'm happy that they have a max lifespan of just over a month. Having said that - I LOVE the idea of player crafted bases/turrets/bunkers that can be destroyed PVP. It makes much more sense in both terms of gameplay and renewable income for us Architects.

What could be more fun than properly taking out/defending a PVP fortress? It sure would add a touch of realism to the game as well as a sense of pride for the guilds that manage to keep fortresses defended.

The only thing that bugs me about the new lights is the inability to change the colours.I was looking forward to seeing some creativity there.

I'm finding that experimenting does change the length of time they last and have gotten some floor lamps to 39 days. I think this isn't very realistic because even in real life you can buy bulbs that last 5 years for a bit more than you pay for those that last a year or so. The idea that it is an item people will want to replace is a stretch, I envision after the 3rd or 4th replacement the novelty will have worn off and few will be needed but we shall see.

I also love the idea of the turrets. Now THOSE are something the people need as a renewable resource.

Experimenting with colors and styles is the funnest part of making things and furniture is just about the dullest as far as creativity goes. Do the styles REALLY represent the Star Wars theme or do they just lack someone with interior design genes at SOE? Geez some of this stuff is UUUUUGLY!

I think we should have torture items for the basementstoo....that would be fun.

My girlfriend just made got some 100% experimented lamps and they were 42 days. So thats the max for lamps. Her candles were 18 days at 83%. We did some testing and found:

23% 10 days

47% 13 days

54% 14 days

83% 18 days

It seems to be about 1 day per 8% on candles. So the max on candles appears to be 20 days.

1. Get better quality light bulb
2. Regulate your voltage in your house better
3. Buy compact flourecent (GCW has laser cannon and the best light is a torch or a 50 cent light fixture. how sad)

As to the lights lasting a month imagine if in RL you had to replace not the light every month but the *WHOLE* fixture. That is the complaint about decay in lights.
Candles rarly last in RL more than a day or 2 and in RL you cant safely let them burn un attended so candles are better in GCW.

P.S. The CF lights I bought in RL 12 YEARS ago are still going strong.

For those wondering about the decay length on candles and lamps, here's the word from TH:

"Players will now have many craftable light sources in the game that will have the true functionality of a light source. Additionally, many new lamp styles have been added to the game and now players can also have candles. Players will be able to purchase architect crafted candles and lamps that act as a light source. The decay rate of the candles and lamps depends on crafting quality. Candles will have a lifespan between 7 and 21 days, lamps between 21 and 42 days"
