Hi all,
Here's a hint of you're working on BER-14s: Experiment two points at a time. If you get one Amazing, that should do it IF you have really uber resources.

And, just as I was ready to throw in the towel, I did it too!!! happy-happy-joy-joy
So, I'll answer my questions for others as frustrated as I was:
1. I used only steel for my OMU. It has HR/SR/UT of 977/975/982, so before today it was making +97% OMUs.
2. I have 10 experimentation points. I *do* have the Architect crafter's apron, but only that, so I don't get another point.
I was in a Research center, with +15.00 structure tools and a crafting station in a droid.
I got 3 amazings and 7 greats, which took me to 100%. I did my experimentation 1 point at a time.
It's now a schematic.

From what i can tell you have to have steel in the 970 range to get the 14s....unfortunatly for me i only have 10K of that 970 UT left...the rest is 950 UT though the HR is 970....all it would yeild where 96% final combines...
I guess the question i have is if you think people will want to upgrade to 14s...or just stick with their 13s...
This could be a boost for "SOME" of us and the pink slip for others...
we are at the whim of the resource spawns and if something doesnt spwan in the next month or so many of us will find ourselves with unwanted stocks and not be able to compete anymore..by the time we catch up most customers will have upgraded already...

I was lucky in a way in that I have 600k of this nice UT993 Duralloy sitting in the bank (other stats are sr969, hr952)

Fortunately (for me), Gorath has had an series of great steels spawning. Right now I'm pulling in Tricogaceaate: 992 HR, 955 SR, 977 UT (adjusted average 975). This is on the heels of a 967 steel, and not long before that we had a 947.

In a nutshell, I used a 100% turbo fluidic drilling pump (rated at 7BER) and dumped all my experimentation into extraction. The result was a 14BER high efficiency moisture vaporator. (I tested with moisture vaps because I didn't want to 'waste' any more than necessary if I was wrong.)
I only have 10 points of experimentation, did my experiments at 4/4/2 (points at a time), got an amazing on the first 4point (yielding a 4 percent increase over 'great' results), and great successes on the rest. In other words, any master with good materials and a bit of luck should be able to duplicate.
Implications:
14BER is possible, but only feasible under the new system. Enjoy it while it lasts.
Fusion experimentation being broken may be working in our favor - 14BER fusions may be the result of 'perfect' experimentation rather than unexperimented. Fixing fusion experimentation may well make it difficult/impossible to see 14BER fusions again without a system like this being implemented.
And now...I'm going to burst into tears because I only have about 90k of duralloy steel left for doing this. I'll probably crank out a 14BER mineral schematic, but I probably *won't* be able to do more than upgrade my personal fleet and maybe show one or two on my vendor as novelty items.
