What kind of material is required for this?
They shouldn't have implemented this change for one day.
Those of us who can will jump on this and make BER14 schematics. Then everyone else who can't do sois at a disadvantage as long as the BER14's last.
I'm sure the same thing is happening for any other crafting profession that can tweak out an advantage from the 1 day only experimentation change.
Pawlin I got a BER 14 Mineral harvester. I stood by my factory while it made 2 ore mining units. I had already had all the other parts. Being cautious I ran a bunch of parts before today. So with the old parts I'm still getting high end BER 13's no problem. EASY STUFF. I made the new sub parts and got BER 14's EASY again. Using high quality steel and good polymer. I heard the chem could be garbage and it wouldn't matter but I'm not one to take chances. I got 100% on my ore mining units and heavy harvesting units and a 100% BER 14 on the final.
Contact Mon'Galnia (I'm afk atm) but I'll share resources and stats with you.

I guess I'm missing something. I'm trying to do the first part of this - getting ultra-high OMU's.
I'm using the steel with HR/SR/UT of 977/975/982. If you do the math, that comes out with a rating of 979. Indeed, when I made OMUs with this the other day, I got +97% OMUs without spending all of my points. Today I get +97% by spending all of my points. I've gotten some "amazing"s, but that percentage rating has not gone above 97%. My belief is, given the material, that I'm at 97.9%. But that's the limit I can go to, given this steel.
What am I not understanding? It looks like the only way to get 100% is to have HR/SR/UT such that ((2*UT)+HR+SR)/4 is greater than 990, at least.
BTW - I tried small mineral harvesters also, and they got the percentage (and rating) that the resource quality number said that they would, even with several amazings.
I guess my question is, for those of us without steel in 990s, is BER14 acheivable?

Ah sweet. I just did a run of 30 Heavy Mineral 13s two days ago. That will make my week if they become undesireable because of this.

/sigh
Well, if this is right it could be my cue tofinally hang up thearchitect's apron- I've got everything needed to make the 14s in massive numbers, butin all honestyI just don't think I can face the hassle of grinding outyet more schematics.
As someone posted above, all the unannounced chopping and changing - combined with the daft newlifespans on decorations -only serves to mess people about and I'm growing increasingly weary.
It's been great fun and I've made enough cash over the last nine monthsto build and financeour guildcity for years to come, so no complaints there, but it's definitely getting close to the timefor some new blood to take over.
Good luck to you persevering types

hmm, heres a novel idea. how about those who make the new 14s dont sell them to the general public but keep them for your own personal use so that all the gouging resource whores cant get even more stuff to overprice. WOW, what a great idea! its just a shame that this will NEVER happen.

I'm got steel similar to yours ZenDragon, so yes it's possible. I went through quite a few OMUs trying to create the BER7 though.
Hard to say what you might be doing wrong, it just works for me. I'm not doing anything special, except that my percentage goes beyond where it would normally stop based on material quality.
BTW, I've gotten a 96% MSS. That in conjunction with 100% on all the subcomps is going to build me one helluva crafting station. I'll let you all know how high I'm able to take it. I'm going to try a few more MSSs and see if I can squeak out a couple more percent.

just a side note. my previous post is not intended as a flame or insult towards any of the previous posters. there was no mention of selling the 14s in their posts. but i just know that there will be plenty of others who will sell them

Hehe, of course I WILL sell them
If the remove of the change will REALLY come, then at 500k each, if not it will obviously my new 13er at 230k ![]()

Well... I just made a BER14 Mineral schematic. First try. Had a great success on 4 points, amazing success on 4 points, that put me to 87%. Another great success easily put me at 100% and BER14.
Now what to do with it. The dark side is full of temptation.

upon further consideration, i guess selling 14 BER harvs isnt that big a deal. i just hate giving the greedy resource dealers even greater capacity to make millions upon millions at a rate faster than most crafters. my original post was written out of frustration at the state of the game and economy. lol, guess thats why i dont post much.

Just to let you know you can get a BER 11 Medium harvester. (I just made one!)
100% on the LOMU (BER 5), 100% on final. It took me 11 exp points to get it, but that pays off in the long run.

This is a pretty cool patch if you ask me - I just made a schematic of 1000 BER7 OMU's and 1000 BER7 Turbos - and have the resources to make both for a loooong time.
And luckily enough I also had enough resources and components on hand to factory make 25 x BER14 Heavy Mineral Installations
. Wish I'd known this was going to happen or I would of had a stack more walls and turbines to make even more.
Now to wait and see if the nerf bat is wielded on these tomorrow

I asked this in another thread. Just focusing on the OMUs for a minute, I have 2 questions:
1. What are the HR/SR/UT of your steel/metal?
2. How many experimentation points do you have?
