Huh, interesting. Do you have to try a couple times to get a 15.0 or do they very a little based on experimentation results?

It's easy. I sometimes even have a skill point leftover, depending on the successes. I'm a master artisan, BTW.

"I've hit +43.66 on Bria with some OQ983 ore that spawned. I'm not convinced that's the Bria record. Was only using OQ979 gas, and the steel I'm using for the Micro Sensor Suites isn't of uber conductivity. My MSSes are 90%. "
My best on Bria are currently 43.730392 so you don't quite have the record yet 
I'm convinced the maximum would actually be 50 since the highest Micro-Sensor Suite I can make is only 90.xx% and it's such a large portion of the final combine.
Telling you the quality of the parts won't help as the numbers don't usually change for me anymore past 98% on Energy Distributors and 99% on the Storage Comp, Control Units and GP Modules. The hidden decimal does change though as I get slightly higher materials.
Materials I use:
Copper 1000 Cond, 990 OQ (final combine, some subparts)
Steel 539 Cond, 958 OQ (Energy Dist, MSS)
Ore 983 OQ (subparts)
Inert Gas 997 OQ (subparts)
Polymer 996 OQ (subparts)
Iron 996 OQ (metal for subparts)
There's been at least one steel, Bigea, that came in slightly higher than mine and with it and a >995 OQ Ore I'm betting I could break 44.

Dammit !!! I have mislead everbody, I checked again, all my tools were 15.00 at 99%, sorry, I was working from memory, I should have checked properly.

I have a Calamari Artisan on Starsider who can make +15 tools. I use the 1000 CDcopper and usually some ore in the second mineral slot (null CD keeps me from lowering the conductivity without wasting any of the copper.)

Corbantis was 43.08 but we were using 971 oq inert gas and just had a shift of 1000 oq. I havent made a station yet but im guessing around 43.3

I broke the 43.999999 barrier three weeks ago....My best is a +44.302933....Im on Kauri....planet of Corellia....Northwest of Coronet....-900, -3800....vendor is called BIG TICKETS....stocked full of 44's...all types.....Do I have the record?

Wish I had your ore and polymer. The best I've made yet on Bria was last night. Built a batch of 43.56+ stations. I scoured hundreds of resource shops across all the core planets, looking for the best resources I could find. In particular I was looking for high OQ ore and polymer, as those are what was holding me back the most. I had a small stash of 978 OQ polymer that I used up, and a small stack of 965 OQ polymer that I used in some areas. The best ore I could find was 957 OQ. I was using Eweodehi copper, the 1000 CD/990 OQ every place that requiredcopper or metal with conductivity. Obiate steel with 605 CD/981 OQ where steel was required. I was using that 997 OQ inert gas, and 996 OQ iron in the subcomponents.
With all that, my MSS subcomponents all got to 98%. The control units in the final build were 98%, the MSS itself came out to 92%, and my droid storage components were 99%. I had a master DE build me a schematic using the uber-copper. Unless I can find some amazing OQ polymer and ore, that's the best I can come up with.

The fabled '+46's' of which no one has ever provided a screenshot. I know of two people on my server that other people claimed made those, one of whom is me! I have never even made 44 so until I see a screenshot I'm calling foul.
