Thread: Fusion generators and the quality of the Ore Mining Units
Tried making Fusions for the first time last night since becoming Master 2 months ago.
Did a run of 4 fusions using really crappy OMU's (BER 1), and cruddy steel and ore. Ended up with BER 11's. *Something* is affecting the final stats, even though we cannot experiment them.
Is the Ore and Steel on the final combine coming into play here?
Yep... I know for SURE that the ore and steel used for the final combine DO affect the stats. It's just the OMU that doesn't seem to.

They might fix it soon. And pholokite ore might fly out of my butt.
On Tempest we use that phrase for Ionite Intrusive, which has only spawned ONCE ever (Sept 5th 2003 - 9 days before I started playing).

If your crafting by hand then I need to use good ones?

I believe that when you initially create the schematic, you need to use a high quality OMU, as well as high quality resources. (of course the walls, gen turbines, manufacturing mechs, and structure storage modules can be low quality).
Then... once you have the schematic made, when you go to load up the factory with the required components, the OMU you use can be any old one. The schematic doesn't carry the serial # for the OMUs. If this is the case... that you need to use a high quality OMU to make the schematic, then this is most definitely a bug, and should be addressed as such.
I'll try to run some experiments on it this weekend.
I have a stack of 100k Phokolite
