I have a question about harvesters. I know that you have to have 3k in maintenance paid up to redeed. But when you rebuild, does the maintenance and power carry over?

Thanks

At the moment.. yes. normally no or there is a reduction (call it a transfer fee if you like).

It does not normally. It is always cheaper to buy another Harvester and let the other one burn.
It also keeps us Engineers busy making more Harvesters for everyone.
I sell all my Personal Harvesters for 950, no matter what kind they are.
Thats a lot cheaper than 3k

As an addendum to this question, I have been curious for some time what the repair cost on a personal harvester would be if you let it "burn up" to the point where it almost disintegrates. I left a wind harvestor around last week with no maintenance in it and when it got to being only 4% of operational condition the repair cost was nearly 10,000 credits. It's definitely cheaper to just destroy a personal harvester and buy/create a new one if you can. The mediums are a little different. On Tarquenas a medium mineral goes for roughly 15k credits and a medium chemical for roughly 20k credits. Due to the cost and sometime difficulty in finding someone to make new ones for me I always pay the redeed fee to reclaim them. After redeeding my collection of 7 on numerous occassions I could have bought several more in the long run, but in the short term its easier to reclaim.

Redeeding costs are 1500 for a personal, 3000 for meds and I'm pretty sure 4500 for heavies.

Only maintenance in excess of these numbers will carry over when you replace the harvester. So a Medium with 10k maintenance in it will have 7000 when replaced. Any remaining power will carry over.

Its cheaper to let personal harvesters burn down, anything bigger than that and it makes better financial sense to redeed.

Repair costs are way higher than replacement costs so your better to keep excess maintenance and power in your medium or larger harvs now that it isn't lost, to avoid heavy repair costs.

It may be cheaper to let the small harvesters disintegrate on their own, but if you are a resource-dependent class there is a reason why this can be a bad idea:

Until the harvester poofs, it is still using up one lot.

From an economical standpoint, this alone is enough of a reason why you may be better off paying the maintenance. However, if your number of lots isn't an issue you may as well let them rot.

Why let them rot? If you don't have the required maintenance in the pool, doing "Destroy" bulldozes the harvester without re-deeding, clearing up that lot.

Hello, i've been playing since the beginning, but just recently i bought a harvestor. Now after i set it up it says i need a power source to run it. What kind of power source do i need to operate my harvester?

3 types of power currently work for harvesters. From wind , solar , and fusion.

You can probably buy this off a bazaar. If you want to collect your own, you need a wind generator, solar generator, or a fusion generator. Each of those generators are on par with the other harvesters on how much they collectwith wind is like a personal, solar is like a medium harvester, and fusion is like a heavy harvestor.

since im not getting a answer on my server forums, i thought id ask here.

i was wondering what would be the price of some personal harvesters BER 4 with about 29k of storage, and the wind would be BER 8 with the same storage. and would be each please for every type.

cos ive checked the bizarre and the prices are all over the place, and the quality doesnt seem that good either.

Giving you a partial answer, as I am at work and my notes etc are at home.

I think what you are seeing on the bazaar is stuff from non-Master artisans grinding for various high level skills. The "raw" BER that pops out now is a 1 on all but wind - it takes good-to-great materials and 8+ experimentation points to move that to a 4. I am assuming wind would start at 2, with max 8 possible.

So, to get what you want - find a Master Artisan and ask if they have the resources to make what you want. Expect to pay 10-20 cr per resource for it. It's still going to be a lot cheaper and easier to place than a medium or large harvester.

To find a master artisan - if none appear on search, try a few droid engineers, armorsmiths and weaponsmiths. If they are not MA's they will know one as their stuff requires MA components.

Good luck on your search.
