As an Architect I understand how important it is to get Large quantities of the resources you need for factory runs so you dont have to waste time continually making new schematics. I currently Have 800K+ Silcastic Ore on Naritus and 700K Steel on Valcyn I also have some nice high quality steel in a 500k amount. I just placed my harvesters on new spots so more good stuff on the way. Please feel free to contact me with what you need and ill do my best to fill your order in a timely fashion. My small input... I play on radiant. i have roughly200 heavy ber 13's and over 8 more miners working for me... i am one of the, if not the largest, grind material dealers. i personaly think, buy crap, mine good yourself. i do that, on static frams or my miners, i have them mine garbage. on my toons and my buddies toons i have them mine high quality. The bad part is more and more miners are trying to fund their jedi's and killing the economy for established playersthathave been an arch/resource miners from day one. I.e. We have some new arch, who is buying resources at 2cpu for grind stuff.. granted you look out for you, and if fact he couldve gotten up to 20+ million in garbage resources from me, BUT hes advertising buying for 2cpu, which i will not go for ore and steel. Now we have tons of jedi miners selling at 2cpu, a .5-1 cpu drop on avg.. This guy is showing other noOb arch's and crafters that old prices are to much and that ppl are willing to sell dirt cheap cause the are desperate... Without a serious change soon, many miners, and archs will go out of business. Slowly jedi miners and guys like this new arch will cause a huge crash in the resource market... just my 2c worth

I just do all my own mining....of minerals that is. Everything else i buy, I don't seem to need chems gases and flora all that much,not really...

I don't understand what the new arch. is doing wrong here? He's buying resources at 2 cpu? Is he paying too much? Or do you think he's paying too little?
I don't understand how someone can pay too little and have that be a bad thing. Least not for him, but you can't expect someone not to want to get the best price on the stuff they buy.
I think what you are seeing is simple supply and demand at work. Nobody is "to blame".

I never pay more than 2 cpu
usually ore and crappy steel/copper/aluminum at 1 cpu.
The good quality stuff to make harvestors should definitely be mined. Ive bought good quality stuff on occasions on corellia though.

It was probably my post you saw on the trade forum...dunno whether you think 2cpu is low or high for crappy ore, but its the lowest ive managed to find and have managed to buy quite a bit at 2 or 2.25 cpu.
Alas nobody is selling for less, and im having to pay 3-4 cpu for the good steel aswell as all the miners want to make stupid profit on what they mine.
Architects are never going to be rich in this game, unless they make some changes or something. Either way im starting to get my own lots stored away to mine my own ore...no way I can make a profit buying it all.

I'm with you. It's damn hard to be a WS/Architect at the same time. You need such a fricken boatload of Ore and cheap metal it's cutting into my ability to mine the rarer WS resources.
I think I'm at the point where I'm not wasting my lots on harvesting ore anymore. By putting the lots on WS stuff, I can sell a couple hundred k of surplusand buy myself amillion units of ore. Ore that I would have had to drop 6 or more harvesters on to get a decent amount. I just do not have 6 lots I can tie up for a week or more.
