At least in regards to harvesters and factories, as they're necessary

/agree - structure decay, I'd prefer a structure repair tool or something of that nature cause making harvester calls sounds like a good way to get my artisan only character dead fast.

/disagree on furniture decay - people are pulling off some really cool ideas based on the idea that they'll virtually be permanent. If there were a way to implement a repair function into the structure management terminal, which would apply to the items in the house, ya sure no problem. I've been the guy making a fake wall in the basement of a tat medium, sat there for 2 hours to hide those ghastly pipes. Would really hate that being a usual occurance...actually wouldn't hate it, just wouldn't do it

As a consmuer I have to agree with the second part ( I actually dont want decay on either ) but if my furniture decayed I wouldnt replace it as I spent a lot of time and money setting things up just right. Occasionally I will see a piece I like better in a spot and buy it - thats fine. Replacing it all I would not do. Same goes for my houses they are there to look cool and not much else if they and everything in them is decaying and going away then I have no use for them.

My views are well known on the Architect thread, but I will restate in order to be "constructive":

As a consumer, I dont like the idea of paying maintenance AND have to deal with decay. I belive it should be one or the other, not both.

Note: The above statement is not meant to "suppress" or otherwise "censor" the views of anyone else on the forum...

decay is a bad idea and will only lead to more people leaving the game as they lose the stuff they worked so very hard to collect.

Quote Jee-bo

"We already have structure decay. It's called maintenance. I insert credits into the coin-operated houses and extractors that I own so that they do not decay and disappear. "

Wouldnot decay be double jeoprady and even if you drop maintenance for decay is it not just the same thing in different packaging. What am I missing here?

Someone mentioned it up above, some people are doing some really neat things (that take hours to do) with furniture. I think we should get color for furniture, or new style for furniture every few months, anything but decay because that would just suck to have to try and rebuild that really cool fish-tank that took 5 hours to get just right.

Installations (factories and harvestors) should decay. Maybe have them lock up, not disappear because then you would lose all that was made or harvested in the time before it locked up. Same with houses, don't have them disappear because all your stuff is in them and that would not be good to have it go *poof*.

Instead of making them decay, why not make a % of the maintenance go to the Architect? Seems to solve the problem from both sides of the argument. A set income each month and the structures don't degrade to oblivion.
