My standard advice to any frustrated novice architect:

Harvestlowgrade ore, make walls and offer them to my vendor for 7k.

Run "Giant Baz Nitch" destroy missions on Dathomir! They bring in 10k each, I usually head out there for a couple hours and then come back when I have 200k. That usually keeps me going for a week or so harvester wise. Then I can concentrate on crafting etc.

I've never run a mission in my life, I've got over a million credits in the bank, I've got 5 large harvesters, a structure and equipment factory and a medium house w/ a vendor in a good location near a major city.

I sell my structures for 5-6cr/u and don't whore myself out at the starports.

My customers appreciate my personal service and attentiveness to their needs.

This whole post was worthless except for the above sentence.

Good luck!

I've always made most of my money selling resources, though now I make a bit selling furniture. I'm sort of a hermit, so my shop isn't inside a player city/shopping mall (though there's one close by so I can shop which limits my sales.
Resources sell like crazy though, and you should be able to maintain your harvesters and power generators selling off a bit of your ore/steel.

Anyway, being an architect for me is just one thing I do-I also scout, fight, and explore (I've run from Doaba Guerfel to Coronet). I make enough money to pay for training and pay for my harvesters, so I'm happy, even though I don't have much cash in the bank.

I'm playing a Doctor/Combat Medic so obviously I'm going for the true healer role. What sort of options are there to make money?

Missions don't work very well since I have almost no combat abilities. I used to be able to make decent money on Lok or Endor in groups, but now that the missions there hardly pay anything anymore. The best source I have found is selling Stim B's and from time to time selling crates of components.

My problem with making money through crafting is that I don't want to craft. I took the class to use in the field, but the advanced planets not paying much means not many people do that anymore. Its easy to find a Kimogilla or Krayt hunt, but there isn't a lot of money from that.

I use to love hanging out in the Med Center back when I still had points to spend on weapon skills so I could run missions. But those days are gone, with the lack of tips in there I hardly ever go back.

So what have you all found to be a good way to recover loses from harvestors and factories?

Three fairly easy options -

1) Do group missions. Even if the combat types don't tip you, the fact that youare there means that they can do missions basically non-stop.

2) Buff. This requires light crafting and at 1K per stat buffed, you can do very well. You really need to be master doc to do this well or have a source of seondary D buffs.

3) Sell Stim-Bs. This is also requires light crafting as well as light factory baby-sitting. It requires either lots of harvesting or a decent source of raw materials. Even if you pay 5 cpu for Lokian wheat, tatooinian fiberplast, dantooine berries, and talusian water, you can easily sell Stim-Bs with around 350 heal and 35 charges for 1000 a piece, which is slightly higher than 10 cpu so you make a very nice profit. If you get resource for ACDRMs the price can go up significantly, though those resources are also the most expensive to aquire.

To make money, I go to Dantooine, or Dathomir, with a small group of 2 to 5 people. Then everyone in the group gets missions that pay over 10k. So you figure a group of 3 people, 2 missions apiece at 10k each mission. You get 20k. Granted I can't do a whole lot combat wise, as all I have is some pistol xp, but the people I'm grouped with love the area, and ranged heals. Also this is a good way to get your herbivore meat and insect meat, just tell everyone in the group, that you need it, and if they have some scout skills, they will harvest the meat for you.

Well that's my two credits worth,

Dantooine missions are great, as is harvesting. With harvesting alone I have fluid income of 100-140k a day, on a Dantooine missions day I'll pull in another 30-60k. Harvester/ extractor upkeep usually runs 20-30k a day, including any fees I have from renting unused lots from people.

Plus Im a Carbineer so I buy bulk carbines, get them sliced, then sell the ones I dont want for a profit, which pulls in an extra 10-20k a day.

Oh, I was just mulling this exact point over this morning myself. I am a new CM and have basic Doctor skills. I look down the road and all I see is crafting/dishing out credits for my future...blahh.

My first Masters degree was Dancer, I can attest to this.....DANCERS GET MORE CREDITS FOR HEALS THAN WE DO.....everyone, this is just not right. I will not go back to dancing just to support my CM/Doctor professions. I dance for my group out in the field when camped, or at a cantina stop to get in and out fast and.....because it just plain relaxes me after a week of long PVP...or at a party...not for credits.

The drugery of crafting and the expense of it wears you out.

Any other thoughts? See me on the Eclipse server if you are there...Bestine

Hi,

I do missions on Dathomir with groups of 3-5. We each get 25k missions going in the same direction, and do 6-10 missions. I usually spend 2 hours, and have 50k or more to show for it. Only fighting skill I have is Pistol 4, and a Pet. You can get a Pet from a Creature Handler.

From being mostly combat classes, to now deciding on this profession, I am not going to lie it's tough. I as a 2 day old character had about 8 harvesters running to get my resources to make meds and such to finish medic trees, but the cost's just emptied me too much and had me worried about them constantly so I decided to destroy them since they were only personal harvesters. As a BH I can solo(no pet means solo) nightsister camps and pretty much any type of mission aslong as you have your wits about you. Now I can barely finish off a desert eopie, atleast an incap. So any healer role even if COMBAT medic you need to rely on groups, I love being solo but with this profession it will make me use my actual title so people /tell me in-game on adventure planets, since I do it when I just got my ass handed to me
