I concur JMnit which is my point. they base quality on quantity and there is no way I can agree with that philosophy. The guy has been coordinator for what 3 days now? You already got 4 or 5 people adamant that hes not worthy and wanting him to take time to prove himself to them. Screw that idea. I pefer to wait and see how and what he reports beforeI make any judgement.

you know why the thread was deleted? it wasn't the devs. it wasn't board operators. You obviously don't understand how the forum system works or anythign about the rating system. If enough users deem a post to be unworthy by rating it 0 it gets removed fromt he forum. That is what happened to your post and yes you were acting like an innocent victim and flaming is fine when you do it but now when somebody such as I "Piles it on you" you get offended and act hurt. Your post was deleted by the users of this forum because enough of them thought enough ill of it to rate it unfavorably. Nobody is out to get you and I have agreed with you when you have had valid issues but you invade constructive threads with comments that have nothing to do with the thread simply because you don't consider the issue being discussed high priority to you. how about this novel idea. If you don't like a particular subject matter ... DON'T READ/REPLY to it. Let those who do wish to discuss it, do so. The other thing you do is threads like this... This has nothing to do with addressing the bugs that are so high on your list and more about satisifying some silly question you have about this guys credentials. He has nothing to prove to you or me or anyone. As long as he presents to the devs what the majority of us consider to be important thats fine. It in no way means we are not allowed to discuss issues that are not important to every single soul. I do believe his job is to present CONCERNS and SUGGESTIONS. He shouldn't limit himself to either or and you shouldn't suggest it. If you got architect related issues to discuss and I find them to be of interest to me I will reply and will do my best to be constructive. What does this thread have to do with the game and why is it more important in your eyes than the Future of Architecture thread that you admitted to flaming?

Now i shall take some of my own advice and stop replying to this thread as I do not wish to participate in it any longer. However if your just absolutely unsatisified and feel you must continue feel free to start a new thread or even better private message me since this really doesn't even concern the board anymore.

I hope to be able to have some constructive comments/ideas to add to future threads of yours.

First I ever heard of the "0" rating.....is there another button I'm mission from my rating scale? All I see is 1-5.

Posts don't get auto deleted.

Well either way, I am humiliated by this sad turn of events.

I probably deserved it for being too condescending as to tell someone how to do THEIR job. I should have been more focused upon MY OWN job, serving my PAs needs.

My apologies to Zarcath.

These forums eat threads all the time. In fact, Holocron commented to such on a thread he was following earlier today. It ate like 10 pages of a thread, and he couldn't even figure out what was going on. If posts were auto deleted because of their content, the SWG Discussion forum would be nearly empty.

Post count, please. I don't post very often however I read these boards at least 3/4 times a day. Does that mean I wouldnt make a good lead. No. Does that mean I would, No. Actually there are a select few with high post counts who I would even think to consider about them making good leads. A majority of the people that post a lot(with exceptions of course) are those thatlike to flame, criticize and tell people how there ideas are the only way. Many of them would make very unpleasent team leads.

Rath, I believe all the people you named had high/med post count. A few of them might make a good lead. But quite a few of them would also make horrible leads.

When I played DAOC, we had a really "nice" team lead for our combat class. I liked him. He was so nice you couldn't help liking him.

The developers during that time walked all over our class. I'm not sure I could blame him for this, but what happened was that other classes had aggressive team leads who pushed hard for changes which gained them huge advantages over our class and others. So over time, some classes just got stronger and stronger, while others got weaker and weaker til it became a joke to even play such a class.

I was one of the very few left in my class when I quit DAOC.

So perhaps some people are too tough, some too easygoing.... allthat really shouldn't matter in an ideal world - just do your job well, do it with honesty and perseverance- and hopefully all will be well. But unfortunately, in the real world, those that make some noisesometimes get better results. So be careful if you are wishing for a "nice" team lead.

Pokpro: "Well either way, I am humiliated by this sad turn of events."

My advice... if you post ANYTHING on a public forum, even if it is something you feel obvious and justified, such as "a rock is hard", "the sky is blue", or "A is the first letter of the alphabet"... expect to be met by disagreement, flames, and ridicule. Filter that out for the actual constructive criticism, and hold onto that, throw the rest out.

Posting on a public forum if either haven't already formed the emotional callouses is a dangerous sport. Just need to realize, there is a distinction between yourself and your ideas, and no matter how vehemently someone is attacking your ideas, and no matter how strongly you believe them... don't take the attack on your ideas as an attack on yourself...

Just my opinions, as usual.

well.. given the lack of an edit ability, assume my post above made sense in the spots it didn't... I won't correct it word for word, I'm sure you can figure out what I MEANT, regardless of what I actually types.

All I'm saying about post counts is at least you can see where the guyis coming from. All we knew of Zarcath was his post about furniture. Furthermore the guy is like an unpaid CSR.If youthrew out an idea and he posted, "Yeah that's a good idea. I'll run it by the devs." People would be happy. That's all I'm saying. You want people that have board presence, to let you know they are paying attention.

Also... one last note, on the deletion of 1-rated posts...

They aren't actually deleted, however... there is a filter in your profile options to filter out posts below a specific rating... the default for this preference is 2. Thus, unless you manually change this, posts with ratings of 1 will be filtered and not displayed... there must be SOME leeway, since (before seeing andchanging this to 1) I could see some posts rated at 1... maybe after 5, 10, or 80 people rate it below your filter point, it is filtered... or maybe only replies and not the starting thread post are filtered.. not sure how it works exactly, but this does account for percieved deletion of threads.. there are also board problems on occasion when posts exceed 10 pages, which will eat them.. haven't noticed that on the new boards (but in beta, as SOON as a thread hit page 11, it was horribly bugged) as much, but there was the thread earlier that seems to have lost its beginning.

Zarcath is a very good writer and if he listen to what we say I am sure he will do a great job. Being a lead is hard, since you may not agree with what others are saying.
