Thread: Zarcath, this is the way to prove your worth.

As you have directed some to read thru all your posts and find the juicy nuggets therein, perhaps you yourself can read thru every thread from beginning to end of the top 40 threads in the architect forum.

After that you can collect all the important information from those threads and condense it down to a top 30 issues, and rank them from top to bottom. Then post your collected issues in ranked order and ask for comments on the list.

One day later come back and read all the responses and adjust your rankings based upon comments. Then post an updated list, and submit it to the development team. This is not a hard assignment.

From your rankings it will be clear whether you are a help or hinderance to us. If you do a good job, then we might begin to believe.

So far all I have seen is some dreamland post about new housing plan ideas, and when you were flamed for being unrealistic, you said you would take your posts elsewhere. Not exactly what most people who come here regularly had hoped for in a representative.

I'm not sure we are being fair to Zarcath, he has alot of people calling him ineffective, when he has barely recevied the first correspondent offered.

He is going to have to do some learning, and I am sure if going to do much what you have said, although you might not see the results as quickly as you would like. I believe that he is going to be responsible and responsive, and present the outstanding issues fairly.

Clearly the bugs are the biggest issues, the economy in theory will fix itself, although only time will tell.

Give him a chance, and stop ragging on him, else we may find ourselves with no correspondent, which is likely a worse situation.

For the love of god, leave the poor man alone.

This is a volunteer position and one that will be rotated. I truly dont envy Zarcath for the job he has to do here, and even less with people bashing him.

Try and encourage theses guys and help them out, not tell them what they have to do to please you.

I am sure he will do a superb job, and I am sure he can use the encouragement of other people as again, he is only a player dedicated to his professoin.

Regardless of the performance he provides, I will respect Zarcath just for taking on the job.

What Pok neglected to mention was he didalot of the flaming. And the reason was simply that zar wasn't talking about whatpok wanted to talk about even though the thread pok flamed was pretty good. Now hes posted this thread like he has the sole ability to judge others based on personal feelings.

This job is like a forummoderator job. You have to spend time on the forums in order to be effective at it. The guy just doesn't post a lot here. I would rather have seen some more vocal architects get the job, for example; terrorbeat, Philomorph, Tempest,Ziroc, JMnITup. Justto name a few.

A Large number of posts doesnt make one effective. what few posts Ive seen were very well thought out and very informative. where as alot of people with 300+ posts are putting up alot of short quips or rehashing the same threads over and over again. Post count means the opposite to me that it appears to mean to you.

Oh my post has been censored now? I didn't even say anything remotely flamelike. I only suggested how Zarcath could show he is up to the job.And everything I said was most polite.

Basically I said Zarcath should read a bunch of everyone's posts, not just mine, and write a top 30 list of issues , then get feedback, and then put up another post ranking how he is pursuing our concerns with the developers. That is considered a flame?

Guess only the developer-party-line gets any air here. If you oppose shoddy customer service, you are silenced? And before anyone misunderstands about the word shoddy, I'm referring to bugs not being fixed for Architect and for harvesters. Lots of other bugs are being addressed, just not ours.

Thanks for the mention Rath, I haven't seen many posts by our rep on the boards but that doesn't mean he can't do a good job. My post count itself is medium because when I see something I do or do not like I *have* to make a comment. Generally they are not short or quips. I was one of the 2 Adventurer professionals for AO and let me tell you its a thankless job. I would do it but I was not chosen so I can only support who was and hope he/she does a good job.

The players get made at you and the devs don't listen. I feel for him and what he is trying to do. If you feel the need to flame anyone then you really shouldn't have access to boards like this, the internets anonymity has always been a problem with no-name little attitudes that feel safe behind their computers and flame away at the world. Its sad but reality.

If you have a problem with the representative rather than flame him in the forums you should send your feedback to the forum mods and they will get it to the correct person. Using it for a personal vendetta will only get you a bad rep and no one will listen to you.

No but it at least shows board presence.

Tempest aye I always feel sorry for these guys whose job is to be a buffer between the devs and us.

they have no power, the users are mad at them before they even have a chance to prove themselves and the devs can only do what they are already doing making alot of concerns the users might have pointless.

and they don't even get paid.

Well, you know... a lot of people with insane post counts get them simply by AIMING at them... especially with stupid "FIRST!" posts...

I have a lowish post count (sub-100 I guess) but if you had a count of words used, I'd probably be up there. I tend to post more detail than people really care to read, actually, so a bit of coffee when looking through my stuff is recommended. But at least I'm thorough... heh

Some with high post counts are good community members, others are bad... same goes for low post counts... typically, those more interested in flaming and trying to get a reaction are going to have a high post count as well... quality isn't a factor in post count, so it is a really bad gauge to judge somebody on.
