Excellent post.
I disagree with making Arch more complicated though. As a casual player it's nice to have a profession where i don't have to be camping the best spawns all the time in order to make money, it's nice that i can be a casual player and make all the best stuff, i wouldn't want this with every profession, but to have it on one is very nice.
I also wish they'd give crafter's a reason to be factionally aligned. I wish Arch (and all crafter's really) to have factional craftable items. Arch's could craft factional base's (like the on'es that are out there now) and also maybe a factional guild hall, city hall, and other civic structure's.
Also it would be nice to have corellia have it's own houseing style, not share with generic.
I notice you're also an armorsmith. I wonder, what are your thoughts are on the RIS quest?
To me, the RIS quest is the classic template all crafting professions should establish unique accomplishments upon.

I am not RIS certified yet. I want to be someday, but i have some more pressing things to attend to first, like building my business up so i actually have some customers. Since i am a more casual player, i finally got really good resources for Ubese and Comnposite, and i want to focus on getting really good resources for Padded, Tantel, and Wookie armor next. RIS is way down on the list
I do like the idea of having crafting quests that allow certain professions to have unique skills, i just wish all those quests weren't delivery or combat quests.
I think it's difficult for me to be RIS cerified because i have no combat skills at all, so i would have to be in a group to go get certified and just stand there while others fight.

Nice work on this excellent proposal. I agree with almost every item, and even if only a few could be implemented, I would be more than happy.
What I would like added though, are benefits relating to the time you have been an Architect. I don't like the fact that a 2-day old Master Architect can craft the same BER13 harvesters I craft (if they have the required resources of course). Why not giveus an extra BER when you're an Architect for 3 months? Why not give us less criticals when we're 1 month, 3 months and 6 months old? Or maybe some exclusive furniture for each additional month you're an Architect? This would not only give us some incentive to stay with this profession, but (if you implement this for every profession) it would also benefit SOE as more people will stay and pay longer
I think Implimenting this one would be hard, but you are right having an architect that mastered yesterday being able to make the same quality of stuff as those that mastered over a year ago, does need some looking into. Thats kind of where I was going with the specialization here, it would be a "life after Master" progression. I think a good way to impliment it would be not on time but based on a point system where you got so much credit for each item you made... (like exp in a way) Since you dont get exp from a factory , you would get credit in that system from manual crafting as well as the creation of manf. schematics. I need to do more thinking on the specialization portion of this I think, lay it out in some detail. The more concise the plan is the more likely they will take notice of it.

Devs don't read the Arch board... that's why they tease us with loot drops, even though many Archs don't have combat skills (like myself). So the only way i can get the loot is to buy someone's schematic off of them.
Anyway, i leave you architects to it. Have fun and I hope these ideas do pay off for you Braydin
