After reading several posts about the inability to place harvesters, and my own troubles finding a spot of unspoiled land to place things down, I started thinking of how the whole architect system could be revamped.

The first thing is everyone in the galaxy has the opportunity to use harvesters at the same rate no matter their skill. I.e. I get the same from my mines as a Pikeman would. Wouldnt it make more sense to give the ability to use larger harvesters the further you went up in the skill line of a crafting profession?

I think that the average joe player that is not playing a crafting profession should be greatly limited in the amount of harvesters he/she can own, and the amount that they will bring in.

All crafting professions should start with the ability to use Light harvesters, and as they grow their skills they will be able to trade up for mediums, then larges.

I can see how this would seem to impact business,but I think It would act differently. I believe that it will allow crafters to set a more realistic price for resources, and for finished goods, As we have debated about on these forums for some time now.

The whole Architect tree is slowly going away,sales onitems are slowly drying up, and prices are getting lower.I forsee that soon there will be a rush to the Armorsmith, and Weaponsmith professions, as they are the only ones with any meaning behind them at this time.

So tobreak it all down.

In order to use harvesters you should require some skill. To upgrade you should require more of this skill.

We need some Dev Love or we are all going to be homeless.
