Anyone wanna bet (credits) that the reason behind the need to relist vendor items is due to a slight programming error (ie, they deleted descriptions etc from the database) and just don't want to admit it?

Why do people pay to play a MMORPG but not want to interact with other people?
Why, SOELA, why? Did the entire management join a cult, and at the same time perform home lobotomies?
It takes less time to look at the stickies than to ask a question and wait for sarcastic replies. So please oh PLEASE ask the same question many times. I enjoy the sarcastic remarks.

Well Most who hadnt ventured onto the Test Center to experience the CU prior Should now have had an opportunity to check it out...

Well..

Tell me..

1 good thing...

The good thing is that the Crafting profs. are pretty much intact. Aside from having to relist everything on their vendors, I'm content that my crafting skills are still recognizable.

1 bad thing...

Where'd everybody go? I'm not angry at SOE for having good intentions. But I'm sad because a lot of valuable friendships that I've made over the course of time are coming to a close. I'll admit, I've contemplated moving on as well. But I love Star Wars and I'm forcing myself to stick to it and see if I'm capable of adjusting to the new changes. I know the CU presents a lot of bugs which may or may not be influencingmy distaste for the game atm. Time will tell.

and

your opinion...

Having a crafter/combat template has left many similiar toons standing on the sidelines. It is my opinion the CU has drawn a heavy line between crafting and fighting. No longer are you capable of being uberly successful at both. Many crafter/combatants are either forced to drop their weapons completely and are now hiding indoors or they're closing down their vendors so they can earn combat skills to survive in the wild.

The devs seem to have cleaned up some of the XP bugs, and reworked the levels - which is to say, I'm now killing creatures my level (or a couple levels above) instead of having instant death. Which means I think this combat crafter will be able to survive the wilds of Naboo, at least...

Blech, I liked the old system more. The special attacks targetting different pools was a great thing.

One Good Thing:

At the end of the day the new combat system will allow for a more balanced and diverse play experience for combat professions, PvsPers, PvsEers, and GCW groupies.

One Bad Thing:

The departure of so many high endtunes and the lack of decay will leave a huge glut in the Architect market

Overall:

If you let the short term bugs slide, I think the major problem SOE had on this was the execution of the CURB. I compare it to giving a man who has been starving for weeks a steak dinner. Sure you have the right intentions, but you will kill him8 times out of 10. They should have rolled in the changes so that people could adapt their playstyles. Instead, many of the high end players seem to be considering moving on which is bad for my architect business, my in game friendships, and most likely is bad for SOE (maybe they found oil under their Austin office).

Good Thing

Combat seems more interesting and challenging now. THis is good IMHO since the game had gotten to the point that there wasn't any high end content that was that much of a challenge. If the game is too easy then people will get bored and quit.

Bad Thing

Combat is a bit too hard now for crafters. For most of us our only feasible option is to run away at any sign of danger. And quite often we'll get insta-killed by tougher mobs with no chance to react or ability to defend ourselves.

My opinion

The CU is painful but I think its really necessary for the game. Its a necessary evil. Lots of things were nerfed but that was necessary tomake things more challenging. I hope it will help more than it hurts in the long run.

1 bad thing...

Saying goodbye to people I have known for over 18months & looking at my friends list and seeing one or two online when the rest are offline(and knowing they won't be coming back on ) and I mean this is a BIG list

your opinion...

time will tell if this is sink or swim as my server is on the brink after the issues we had with Chimaera it was possibly the final straw for many longterm players
