Most cities will be formed by guilds... these guilds will most likely have a master architect.. i dont see urban planner as bringing more business into the architect profession, becasue not every tom **edit** and harry can start a town like they can place harvesters or houses. Each planet will have limited cities. If each planet could only have 10 PA halls, would you expect to sell a lot of PA halls?

But if someone wanted to buy one from me, it would indeed be in the 1million range. Its a one time purchase and you get a town out of it. Its not ONE person purchasing this... this is a group of people making a town.. take that group of say 5 people (more than likely it will be more than 5 ppl) bring them to dathomir and run the easy 25k missions.. 2 missions per person, 250k total for that group a run... is 4 complete missions runs too much to ask for a building that will make their village a town?

Heaven forbid we make them work for 3 hours or so to get a city hall ? : )

Two questions.

Scared to say **edit**? It's a name, get over it.

**edit** is an Architectress? Musicianess? BWAHAHAHAHA! Why not "Tailoress"?

Ooo, ooo, I got one..."Dumbassess".

Rheet, No I am just lauging at you guys so serious about setting a price fortown halls. There will be almost no market for them at all, Most towns will be started by PA's that already have a master architect. You kids are just all so serious about setting prices like you are going to have a lot of business or something.

It is all so funny.

I doubt there will be more than 5 or 6 Player towns on a planet ( if that many ).

Just about every group that starts one will have a resident Master Architect.

If a town actually did ask me to build them atown hall, I probably would do it for free, just to watch you guys squirm.

to the original poster:

700k to high? i say nope its not. this buildings are to low on demand for give away cheap.

anyways mostly cities will be made by guilds and they got their architect, so dont even bother with that structures lol

dont make mistake and try to ruin even this new market, which will be very slim with lowcut prices.

architects are already ruined we dont want another nail to coffin

There wont be a market, that is what is so funny.

Power towns will create more of a market for Hosues, for combat types that want to be a part of a militia. But a market for Town Halls? That is a pipe dream.

Multiply the number of planets you can place a building on by probably 5 or 6 and you have the total number of towns, In general large PA's will start towns. How many large PA's do you know of that dont have a master architect as a resident of the PA?

There will be no market to ruin.

Architect sales are NOT runied by the way, sales are still strong. But I do agree that sales will be going downhill as demand decreases once again a month or so after player cities release. The only way to fix that is decay.

You guys need to stop thinking like the United Way and start thinking like Vegas Casino style. Get the money as much as you can so the price doesn't sink down into nothing and you end up right back where you started.

With a class that really once the inital rush is done doesn't make **edit** for steady income.

Sell it high keep it high

Massanas,

I am not sure you see the problem, most people in this thread don’t seem to see it.

How many Town Halls will an average city have?

Answer 1

How many Towns will there be?

Answer We are not totally sure but we know they will be limited, likely no more than 5 or 6 to a planet that can have player housing.

How many cities will be started by Large PA's

Answer, unknown but likely most of them, I would guess nearly all of them.

How many large PA's have one or more than one Master architect as a resident who will build the town buildings for them?

Answer Every single one that I know of.

So lets figure it out, let guess on the conservative side, to make your points look better. ( mine don’t need to look any better )

8 planets ( guess )times 6 towns = 48 towns ( I bet you it is going to be actually less than this, but lets say 48 total towns for your sake )

I bet 80% will have a MA resident but lets give you the benefit of the doubt and say half.

24 towns halls, there is the market you are trying to protect, 24 total one time customers........ Now how many Master architects will be competing to sell town halls to those 24 customers? 100? 500? more?

There is no market to ruin, it is already ruined, you cant found a business trying to compete with 500 guys trying to sell to 24 total customers. And they are one shot customers at that.

A smart architect might simply give it away ( I was only kidding, but I might change my mind ), in a deal with the town to make other stuff for them. But he better not jack his prices up too high on the other stuff because there are 500 other architects waiting in the wings to snap up any sales.

People that sell for less don’t ruin the market, the fact that things last forever ruins the market. The fact that supply far outstrips demand is what is ruining the market.

most Pa's have a master architect..no way in hell are they gonna ask another architect to build it for em. in the early days PA's asked other architects for pa halls simply because they didnt have one of their own..those days are long gone..in our PA .Phoenix Legion on Eclipsewe have 4 master arcs.

Slightly disagree on the number of player cities though...if the player occupation and city radius rumours are tru i think we will initially see quite a few.. a lot more than 8 / planet ..however the maintenance may force some to drop it and join a larger player city..maybe a size 4 with a shuttleport

As for giving away a townhall..hell of a marketing excersize..give away a town hall and get gratefull customers at the minimum dropping by your vendor for stuff and be allmost certain of being the first call to build any other city structures.

Destryr,

You might be right, but it was my understanding that when you found a town it figures the maximum potential size for that town and all other towns on that planet and only lets you place it if as a metropolis it will not overlap other potential metropolises.

We will see, but even if you double or triple my figures, the point remains, very very few one shot customers, and boatload of architects competing to sell to them.

I think many of you are forgetting one simple fact. If you buy a novice polititan ....anyone....(with the money) can place a town hall. Given there are a few restricions but if i buy a town hall walk out the the little group of shops/homes it is a city. There is nothing anyone can do to stop me.

you can vote me out...you can pack up and move...but there is still a city. Untell you get someone to be voted as mayor....quit paying maintenace...then in a few days it will go.

Then someone else can do it to you....

Only PA's and a few groups will sustian a city

but expect cities to pop up all over....

and the cheaper the City Halls the more you will see.

You dont know the requirments to place a town hall yet, neither doI

But even if true...........locations will dry up in a matter of a day or three.

My character will probably take a start in politician and drop one myself, but I have no illusions of keeping the town for myself.

hmmmmmmmmmm I think I will charge myself2 million. Is there a trade window for trading to yourself?
