Thread: How many masters are planning to go urban planner?

What with the fact that it's hard to get any structure sold at a price greater than 3cpu, I haven't seen any sign that architects are anything other than glorified miners.

Unless Urban Planner somehow signficantly changes that... I doubt I'll even be sticking with the Architect profession any longer than it takes me to build up deeds I'll need when I switch to another crafting profession which works.

And I'll be doing Urban Planner, seeing how the market goes, if it's like it is now, I'll be dropping it after I get for my city what I need.

I'm in...one of the best reasons is there will be few bottom dwellers. Perhaps we can do it right this time.

For sure. Just gotta figure what I'm going to give up for the skill points. I think urben planner is going to be a blast.

I shudder when I think of the resources that will be lost on a crit fail City Hall tho

Nyree you arent wrong, I may have to re-sturcture my prices, I can hardly wait to see the schematics and start figuring. Can you imagine loosing a week of resrouces on a single failure?

Already stockling up resources. I have about 700k ore right now just waiting for Urban Planner so I can grind to master in a day or two. I will be building for my Town first and for most. Once I hit master and get everything for my town... if there is a market for items I will keep urban planner... otherwise I will probably slowly drop it (and if needed for add ons later just level back up).

At first I hated 250 limit, but I like it now because I relize this will cause all the semi-architects to not do it. Only people who will do it is the dedicated ones or the PA ones. The PA ones will only be making for their town and will probably drop it right after they get a Star port (presumably the master UP item)

Well this thread had enough people going UP to cover the demand there will be..Unlike architect where you may sell 3 houses to the same person you will be selling to groups of people now...The groups dont need 3 of the same thing they need one and how many towns will there realy be..

The demand will be alot less for these buildings than housing was and you can bet the udercutters will be out there and they will kill this skill even faster..Im kinda hanging out to see what happens but most of the player towns i know of already have a person going UP so this may no be a skill for you unless your strickly going for the gola of your town and not for a business..

The only way i see to make this work is to make the structures have insane resource uses to keep the the bottom feeders out...If it takes 500k-1 mill resources to make a structure then people may not be as likely to sell for small profits..

I'll probably try it, although I don't see it being a viable profession. Based on the way Architecture is going now, I'll probably still be desperately trying to sell one item so I can keep my harvesters going. I picked up a second account to have more lots, that's where I will do my hunting since I definitely want be able to have a combat line with Urban Planner.
