Don't you think 500k is abit pricey? Not everyone sells 10k-15k, 35-50k, and 100-175k houses every day or sell weapons and make much more back, the people whom have a use for these things such like the fighters have to basically pool together their money till they get 500k+. That's days and days of work....

Fighters and support classes can't make money from selling their items, there are no SoJs that are worth tons, heck, the best items most people can get and sell in the market is something matching Tusken gear.

You have to keep in mind, the person who is buying this should have some kind of GUILD backing, because the whole point of the PA hall is to form a GUILD. 500k might be a lot for 1 person, but if you plan to run a successfull guild, and cant even come up with 500k between the memebers then you shouldnt have much hope of getting very far. Its about teamwork.

Also i think 500k without resources, 100k(if theymakethe power cores) and 150 if they just give you the resources.

Personally I am a guild leader who is also an architect (but i decided i would rather get my PA hall up soon rather then wait a few days more for our other architect to get master). We made every component ourselves, and paid 100k for the master architect to do the final combine, the powercore is hands down the worst part of the process, since you need 2 identicle cores, which require you to get 3 seperate components that are also identicle, and usually you have to put in enough to make 4 cores just to be sure that you get 2, we put in enuff for 4 and got 3 cores out of it.

Do you tell that to the weapon and armor smiths that are charging 50 creds/unit too?

Nope, when I see them charging that much I find one that isn't a ripoff.. Personally, I think you are ignorant if YOU would pay that much, but whatever floats your boat, since according to your thinking that would be a fair price, right? In my case I don't pay creds for weapons. I established a FRIENDSHIP/customer relationship with a weaponsmith who let's me provide the units and he just assembles. I do the same for him with furniture and crafting stations and such. Great relationship and it beats paying 50 creds/unit.

You guys are so greedy it's sad. I sell my houses and harvesters up through medium for 3-4 creds/unit. It's very simple. I get more then I pay to make something, and I get xp for my time, I don't charge the customer for the fact I get loads of XP, that's my benefit, not theirs..

I have plenty of orders, and in return a few NEW friends (made because I don't rip them off) have even let me use their unused lots for harvesters and generators for no charge.. I have one account with 17 lots at my disposal.. Being nice, being fair, pays big in this game. Don't forget it's multiplayer, you aren't in EQ selling to vendors..

You can take the attitude of having 100 customers who you are out to take for as much as possible, or you can look at is as a chance to get to know 100 people and establish friendships and in-game relationships. The latter pays better, but takes more time. That's what our cost really is guys, time. Don't go thinking yours is worth more then the customers.

So you can set price by the things others do (like the quote above), or how people have lots of money so they can afford it (greed), or how you have to actually work X days to make something (whaaa), or how you set your pricing based on what they can pay and not what it's worth (they ARE a big PA, they should pay more? bah) or any other number of comebacks you want to throw my way. Point is, I sell a lot, I make a lot, I am growing in xp very fast, and people are happy. err.. Customers I have that you don't are happy I mean..

The only ones complaining are greedy architects that want to set prices too high.. You guys aren't worth that much. Your pixels in a game, you aren't worth squat.

Of course, you can try lowering your prices and drive ME out of business instead.

Being nice, giving the CUSTOMER respect at a fair price, is working out very well for me. I will not be changing that because I can make something bigger tomorrow then I made today. You can flame all you want. I'll tell your ex-customer hello for you next time I'm online selling them something.

I've been struggling a bit to come up with pricing on all my buildings, not just PAs (which, unfortunately I can't even make yet). What I've heard as a common thought is to charge per resource, and I ran with that. However, instead of charging a flat 3 to 10cr per resource, I figured out my personal value on each type. (just like people in game may sell ore for 2cr per, and steel for 8cr per). Tack on a processing fee (which grows each level), I come up with a price.

The break down:

Steel, Gas, Chemicals - 5cr per

Non-Ferrous metals (aluminum and copper) - 4.5 per

Generic Metal - 4 per

Low-Grade Ore (including Carbonate) - 3 per.

However, most of this is based on me being an independant architect with little to no help on gathering resources. As a result, I'm getting crushed by PA MAs who charge 2.5 cr per resource, just to fill the PA coffers. Making a medium Naboo House, I charge 65000 (with a 4700 Architect fee). When I see people charging 30k, it absolutely kills my business (that's a piddly 1.6cr per)

What do others think of the method of breaking up the resource type? Works very well for my furniture business, but the buildings are still the most difficult things to sell.

What I find amusing is people that sell their resources for 5cr per, then expect you to make them something for 3cr per, or less. I scour the bazaar terminals looking for deals, and can sometimes buy resources at 3cr per, but that's rare. I don't know how it is on other servers, but most people on Chilastra are selling resources for 5cr + on the bazaar. I've got 8 harvesters available, due to using 2 lots for my medium house/shop. If I didn't have some help from friends placing harvesters for me, I wouldn't even get enough resources from 8 harvesters to make one medium house per day.

The solution I've found is to let people know how many resources are used to make something. When you tell them their medium house will take 20,600 resources, they don't complain so much when you tell them it's 60k credits for one. I also tell them I'll put it together for free if they want to get the resources themselves (I'm still working towards Master Architect so I'm happyto getthe xp). By that time, they're usually willing to pay the 60k.

We are being greedy selling ourstructures? for 2.5 to 3 credits per resource when the same resources sell for 5-10 on the bazaar?

Ok lets get one thing straight.... This is an Economy based game. for combat classes it is very easy to get credits. I made 15k in 2 hours taking my time yesterday. why is it when soembody sells a pair of knuckledusters for 15k its ok but when an architect tries to sella small house for 15k the consumer thinks its too overpriced?

Again for those of you crying about how structure prices are too high, you are not buying a consumable item! sure you have to pay maint, but so do all us architects on all our harvestors everyday!

If you dont like my price, then you do the grind to novice architect, then you do the grind thru architect to master, and you tell me what i should charge for any structure. better yet MAKE IT YOURSELF!

you want a workable economy? then sell me a laser rifle for 10 cr and i will sell you a PA hall for 200k or better yet a full suit of composite for 1k and i will charge you 200k for a pa hall.

Jarvel has all these customers that we dont. **edit**, why is my waiting list 2 days long, I must be making all this stuff up in my head. Thats it, I dont have a waiting list and all the /tells I get and my current customer base(at least I "imagined it" to be quite large) aren't coming back to me for more and more......lol

Can't believe I imagined all this stuff up. I've got problems.

Guess I'll have to /tell all my imaginary customers that there not real tommorow and that I can't sell stuff at my prices(which my imaginary customers continue to buy) because some guy thinks that only his prices are not greedy.

Btw Jarvel, i'm so greedy then you are as well. You can personally mine most all your resources at under .5 cr/unit. Why are you selling for more than .51 cr/unit. Sheesh you greedy cheapskate.

The fact you are doing so well, and I am doing so well, is excellent news. It means all this garbage about low prices ruining the economy and bringing about the doom of the architect can be laid to rest and people can shut up about it now. There's more then enough business for all of us... Point taken and'nuff said..

Good fortunes to you all,

Since I know woolly and hes about the only reasonable one here I really wonder how many real architects post on this forum. (Isop - Master Architect - Intrepid - I-CORP)

The time and commitment required from the buyer. The possibility of crits. The complexity of making the power cores ( and compund that with the current problem of them being bugged). The ridiculous prices on the bazaar. The incessant lying from buyers about how so and so will make it for sooo much less. It's getting to the point of absurdity. For all the WORK required (because at master it seriously detracts from actually having fun) I'd like to see prices in the range of a million with no resources, and considering weapon, droid, and armor prices this is not absurd in the slightest.

Boy do I agree....people pay 50K for a set of ARMOR and then whine and moan when ask 15K for a small house. And I'm not even talking about large houses, harvesters, and PA Halls.

ITS A HOUSE, PEOPLE.... A PERMANENT HOUSE!

Go walk around the "real world" for a while and be sure and let me know when yousee a house sell for 1/4 of the price of a set of clothes.

Man thank you for the great laugh. Hey what line of work do you do in the real world? I might be needing your services since you don't mine undercharging yourself.
