Really varies a lot from server to server. Best bet is to ask on your own server's trade forum.

Laws of supply and demand apply. If a server had 4 great Dantooine berry spawns in a row it would go for a lot less CPU than another server that has not had a decent spawn in 6 months.

1) Is resource XXX the name (like Foobar Neutronium Steel) or the type (Neutronium Steel)? Once it goes away, Foobar will never come back (at least nobody's seen a repeat in 18 months). When Neutronium Steel comes back (specific resource types may or may not be in spawn) it'll almost certainly have different stats.

2) Some resources never get a very high concentration. Ore, in particular, seems to cap at around 60% density (and that's a pretty lucky find). Forother resource types, I've never noticed a cap. For grinding type resources, I'd say that anything lower than 75% is probably not really worth your time, especially since you can check various types of (say) metals to find a better concentration, no one's going to be grinding with Plumbum Iron.

3) 12pt crafters are advertising how many experimentation points they have to spend when making items. All crafting professions (well, except shipwrights) get 10 experimentation points once they reach Master. With skill tapes, you can get another +20 to the {profession} experimentation skill, which adds two more points. This is most common with weaponsmiths, armorsmiths, and chefs, since those professions have multiple important experimentation categories. Other crafters either don't experiment (tailor clothing, architect buildings) or only have one key category that can be maxed out with the normal 10 points (harvester BER, droid module effectiveness, speeder HP).

A quick scan of the stickies and a forum search didn't turn up anything overly helpful, and I am still left with my questions:

What specificly am I looking for when I look at resource qualities? The OQ or the other stats such as malibility, toughness etc.

I have some options for which resource to harves, and I am trying to harvest the ones that will work best in my armors. I just don't know which stat is meaningful in this context.

It depends on which item your trying to craft, but lets use Kinetic Protection Armour Layer for an example.

This uses

Ferrous metal, Polymer, Amorphous Gemstone, Chromite Carbonate Ore.

If you look on the right hand side of draft schematics page when you first click the crafting tool, look down to where it says Special Protection. It says

Overal Quality and Shock Resistance 50% - These are the stats your looking for in the above ingrediants and the crafting results are based on these, so the higher the quality the better the item..

When looking for high quality resources, ideally you would like OQ and SR to be above 950 to give you the best results, the other stats for the resource are unimportant.

With most AS schematics (but not all) OQ and SR are the important stats.

Hope this is what you was after.
