Architects can build a number of different "product lines". Some architects do everything, whereas others focus on particular product lines. This is similar to some weaponsmiths focusing on melee weapons or commando weapons. So one piece of advice is to talk with some specific prospective buyers and find out what they need.

In general, quality doesn't matter at all for architect resources. For 90% of what we use, the stuff could literally have ALL attributes of 1 and it wouldn't matter. What does matter is very large stacks at a low price. Hence the previous poster's comments about the difficulty of making a fortune selling resources to architects.

To give you an idea, here's the top items to make a large house. Notice here that quality doesn't matter at all.

total resources: 37,334
low grade ore: 25,028
metal: 9,926
non-ferrous metal: 600
carbonite ore: 530
aluminum: 500
etc.

Right now the only things we make where quality matters are crafting stations and harvesters. Crafting stations are a whole topic in themselves, and don't require a lot of material.

Here's what it takes to make a heavy mineral harvester:

total resources: 27,770
low grade ore: 15,400
metal: 7,480
steel: 1,540
aluminum: 1,000
etc.

Of that, quality only matters for 1,140 units of steel and 1,400 units of metal. Everything else can be crap.

For that steel and metal, we need high HR, SR, and UT. Basically calculate ((2*UT)+HR+SR)/4). If that number is below 900, then the metal is junk for walls. If it is above 900, it's a candidate to make some high-rated harvesters.

The heavy mining company asks the crafters who make the least money what minerals they should mine and sell to us. Interesting

DE's need everything but organics. There are a few rarer metals out there we need like Lidium Extrusive, Dioxis Inert Gas, Duralloy Steel, but we really use just about everything in the book. The most important traits are OQ and Conductivity. The only exception being Reactive gas unless the DE has architect him/herself and can make the power cores.

Hi there

Duff-man is a cool name.

If you want to make lots of credits for resource, you'll need to collect many high quality resources.
Heres a list...

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Duralloy Steel (high UT,HR,SR) = architects use it in insane amounts, avg price: 6 cpu
Carbonite Steel (high UT,HR,SR) = not as good as duralloy but enough to make best harvs. avg price: 5 cpu

Plumbium Iron (high oq +other stats) = Very rare resource used by weponsmiths, avg price: 10 cpu
Irolunn Reactive Gas = weaponsmithing reare resource, avg price: 20 cpu
Ostrine Carb Ore = weaponsmithing rare resource, avg price: 10 cpu

Lokian Wild Wheat = docs need it for advanced components, avg price: 8cpu
Dantooine Berries (best stats) = doc need it, avg price: 8cpu

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am not if those are all best resources, and I am just guessing the average price.

We need low grade ore, the stats on it don't matter, is what architect’s need the most of. Preferable in stacks of 50k or 100k andyou will never have a problem selling it for 2-3 cpu in those quantities.

hmm, the named resources. Titanium aluminum, thoranium steel, plexite amorphous gemstone, green diamond crystaline gemstone, and there's some nabooian scaley hide, and tatooian woolyhide.

Other then those few named resources (and any I may have missed) all we really need is grind quality generic fiberplast, grind quality generic metal (sometimes copper), grind quality generic hide, and grind quality generic polymer.

We probably arn't the best market for those named materials you should realize tho, even a quarter brick (25k) of one of them will last any tailor for the life of a character. Our needs for grind quality materials arn't that huge either.

This is more a question to ZenDragonMLS, but of the units of steel and metal that you really want the good stats on, is all that part of a specific component or separated somehow from the rest of the steel and metal???

Here's what I did to get those numbers:
1. went to www.swgcraft.com and looked up the schematics
2. the schematics give both the total resources (including all subcomponents) and the specific resources/components needed for final assembly
3. I pulled out the specific resources (e.g., steel/metal/ore) needed for the final assembly
4. I then went to the schematic for the "mining" component (e.g., ore mining unit) and pulled out the specific resources for that (and doubled it in the case of heavies)
5. That gave me the grand total of all resources with the gross level breakdown, and also the list of resources that really make a difference. So the resources that went into walls, generator turbines, small structure storage modules, etc are counted in the grand total but not in the "high quality" figures.

Here is what I sent my current supplier, who is more than adequate for my current needs(he has 30 lots), but with the upcoming chef update, I may need a second supplier to meet increased demand. This resource listing is based on my most popular items(something I sell quickly, so that I will have money to buy even more of it from you):

Important Resource Stats: Overall Quality, Potential Energy, and Flavor. If these aren't above700, I'm usually not interested unless I am just totally out of a resource and I have customers who just need the buff itself and don't care if it's super high or not. Of course, these don't really matter if you are harvesting for grinding.

Important Resources: Metal, Cereal, Fruits(These are Fruits SPECIFICALLY, not berries or flowers, but fruits), Radioactive, Reactive Gas, Oats, Rice, Carnivore Meat, Vegetables, Wheat, Beans, Bristley Hide, Water, Domesticated Rice, Domesticated Meat, Berries, Lubricating Oil, Insect Meat, Tubers.

I have mentioned a few up above that are general resources and several that are the specific resources in that general group. If you see that there are quality specific resources to harvest that are around the same quality as a general resource, definitely harvest the specific resource. I would rather have one huge stack than 2 small stacks . Example: A good wild rice or wild wheat pops up and there is also a good domesticed rice. Harvest the domesticated rice as it can be used anywhere cereal or rice can be used.

Since you are on my server, definitely leave a waypoint or send me an e-mail. I would be interested in buying from you in the future if I outpace my own supplier(that may be awhile though, he has huge stacks of good stuff and theykeep growing ). I will tell you the greens that is down right now on Corelliais awesome if you want to look to some place to start harvesting. I think it has 2 stats in the 900s and one in the 700s. One thing I'm sure you will sell out of everytime is quality domesticated meat. You can hunt this easily by taking Mawgax missions on Yavin from the northern outpost. I say hunt easily, but they are level 30ish and you do have to have either a tank pet or some superior combat skills to hunt them easily .
