Hi, my name is Grinan Barret, like most of you I have an ore addiction, a harvester farm that rivals the size of Theed. Ore stashed in every imaginable place, mostly in my tents, my 3 houses, my bank account, the cantina, and yes, even in the city hall (don't tell the mayor, she's my wife).
I have tried to drop Archie for the last 3 months now. I crafted every building for the city and made enough houses that you could place them in a single line from Nym's Stronghold to the Imperial Outpost and not leave an inch between.
/sigh... It has become a tiresome addiction and I really want to stop. There's just not a way I can see this happening.
When does the madness end? Oh wait... ya, when JTLS releases and I can grind shipbuilder and pilot. LOL /cheer. Then I can pick up swordsman, as well, and go hunting instead of running my butt all over the galaxy surveying, dropping harvesters, convincing other citizens and guildies that I really need this ore and we need as much of it as we can get, and using tactics such as never heard of to do so. Asking complete strangers in the street if I can 'borrow' their lots for an indefinite period of time, and paying exorbidant amounts of credits to do so.
Yep... pretty happy with it over-all. Just wish the wife would grind Archie so I didn't have to keep making structures and gardens.

((OOC: This is spoken from my Mon Cal Arch character's POV))
My name is Crellam. No last initial, unless you want to make that an "A" for "Addict"
I got my first taste of Architecture back when I was a kid. My parents told me to do something "productive" and become a Droid Engineer, but I've never been to fond of droids and have experienced occasional bouts of "Droid Rage" (I'm also seeking help with that, too). To calm my nerves, I'd tinker with building blocks in my bedroom. I'd stack my coral blocks and make towers, houses, I even tried to build a scale model of Couruscant and try to hide it under my bed. My father wouldn't have any of it and promptly smashed it all and let it drift away with the tides.
I then began to seek out friends who enjoyed architecture too. We would build things in secret and hang out with those who's parents were architects too. Often times they would offer us structural modules or something late at night and I'd snap them up and then head for their ore stash.
My dependancy on Architecture grew. I found myself thinking about structural modules and ore mining units on a daily basis. One night I just had to get my fix and I made my first structural crafting station and then I made 100 wall modules all by hand. I felt so dirty and yet so good at the same time.
My thoughts centered on mining and getting ahold of ore to feed my addiction. I then caved and made my first harvester. I tried to hide it from my family but the incessant grinding of the harvester and the smoke tipped them off. My family told me to get lost and enjoy being a "buildie".

I get a phone call at work. It's Ohi "l33thaxx0rnam3" Tinacki.
Ohi: You got a second?
Erann: Just a short one.
Ohi: Remember how you said you weren't sure about moving your house near the Mall because you didn't want to redecorate it?
Erann: Sure.
Ohi: Well, I have some time to kill while I'm waiting for a phone call. So I'm about halfway done redecorating.
Erann: (silence)
Ohi: Then it occurs to me that, you know, he might not have wanted me to do that. So, BEFORE I START, I thought I'd check in with you.
There'd better be a damn espresso machine waiting for me.

I think we know the answer to the question, "Is your Architect habit disrupting the lives of your friends and loved ones?" for Ohi.

I am not addicted to Ore. I am however, addicted, pretty blue steel. I have enought steel to last a year or so. Only about 4mos worth of ore. I love my irons too, they do good on gassers, keep me from spending my precious steel.
