Thread: Walls in Factories Temporary Fix
Everyone can make walls in factories by hand-loading a zillion bricks. It's that hand-loading of all the bricks that is the major annoyance, and we only have to do that due to a bug. This post explains how to get around that "structure factory will not pull bricks from crates to make walls" bug.
When making chairs or crafting stations I do one crate per item needed and pull the first item out of the crate, so 5 crates of droid storage parts, 8 crates of cloth, ect. So this makes since. Guess I'll have to save up for the day when I can do 100 walls at once.
Im not following you.
I got my schematic all set.
I put in a crate of 50 structure modules plus the rest of the necessary materials.
I start up the factory and it fails. says there are no structure modules. it seems it can't open the crate.
so you are saying instead of one crate of 50 I should put in 5 crates of 10? Is that how you got it to work with crates?
sorry, Im out of it today and just can't quite understand what you mean. ![]()

Not one crate of 50 modules, 10 crates of 50 modules ea. This is 500 modules total to make 50 walls total (10 modules per wall)
Also this brings up the issue of how you get 10 crates of 50 when structural modules come in 100's but I assume there is a lot of fiddling on the front end to get this configuration on the back end.
Still can't get this to work, Cheracc. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong...
I took 1 brick each from 10 crates and inserted them into my schematic, added resources, made schematic...
Put schematic in factory, loaded all 10 crates into factory (in the same order as I entered them in the schematic), added resources, pushed the big red button... nada. Zero items created.
Then I banged my head against my factory for awhile.
Creadux,
I wouldn't worry too much. I do not think this is a bug. I think the real bug is that the slider caps at 100. If you manualy type a number in over 1000 you will get an system error message saying to please enter a value between 1-1000. So i think 1000 schematics are intended.
Also I have had no problem lately using these, i now make runs of 500 powerups at a clip, really nice considering it used to bork after 100
I had 9 crates of 100 labeled "Structural Module". The tenth crate of 100 was called "brick". Pulled one item from each crate for the schematic, and then put the 10 crates of 99 into the hopper, and it failed repeatedly (it didn't draw any out of any crates so at least nothing was wasted).
I had an additional crate with 17 named "Structural Module", but swapping it in place of the "bricks" one didn't help. Relevant data points for future expirements (by someone else; I don't care enough about this game to waste more time on this absurdity):
1) the crates we all more than the 50 items used by the original poster
2) the bricks were from multiple runs
3) the brick crates didn't all have the same name
