My crafting tools are 13+, and my crafting station is an average 20.something I made without a droid storage compartment. However, it is seriously cursed, and I don't use it much. My favorite is when I get "Amazing success" and then to tick that sucker up to 10 I add in 1 more point and "Critical Failure."
NOOOOO!!!!
Or, when The first experiment that I chuck all of my points into is a Crit fail. At that point it's just garbage, and you should hear the string of obscentites... Just yestarday I crit failed 2 of five on some things I was making. Fricken 2 of five!
The absolute LOWEST I will make a medium is 9. Anything less isn't worth it. I'd almost ratherthrow away the resourcesthan take the time to craft it. I havesold a couplejunkBER-8son the Bazaar for 6k credits-- How sad is that?
What I like to do is sneak into a city that's a manufacturing center and usemy droid station, or a good structure station if I find one. The mfg. center gives you a bonus on your roll for experimentation and assembly. Even on a crap station, it makes a big difference. Lots more good, great, amazing successes and almost no crit fails.

Well today the situation got even weirder as I used inferior materials (about 22% on construction) as was still getting 75% ber 10s .Thanks for the advice about the crfating station and tools think Ill invest in them ASAP

I personally never believed in the better the crafting station/tool the less crit failures. All the time I was a master arch I only used 14's or less......My crit failures were never even near what others are reporting here on the forums for the last few months. The Devs have never confirmed or denied that better tools make better results. Just my opinion from personal experience is all.
I was told by a Master Weapon person once that the folks on that forum believe the crit failures are associated with serverlag.

Responding in turn to each of these:
I can only say that I noticed a marked improvement when I upgraded my tools and station. Maybe I was just lucky, a coincidence thing? I still don't believe that myself, maybe I am just trying to justify to myself spending out on new gear.
Referring to the previous poster, averaging 1 crit a day on 5-10 harvs ? As I run my harvs through a factory it is difficult for me to compare, but I have not had a crit on a harv for weeks, and with a few hand mades plus factory runs on harvs and components I guess I have actually assembled around 30 harvs since my last critical. I got a crit on a first time assembly on a wall last night, that is the first on a component in a couple of weeks, and I experiment all my walls still, I make a LOT of walls too.
Critical failures associated with server lag? No, don't think so, could be because of what happens when you get a crit, I usually know when it is coming (if ever, hehe) there is usually a fractionallylonger wait for the result of an experiment I assume this is a programmed pause, or a slight delay (around 1-2 secs) while the program goes off and calculates the 'damage' and finds the 'failure' message, whatever, it would be easy to mistake tis for lag.
