Very good point here. Part of the issue with architect decay is that our products are large, hold many things, have expensive maintenance or are time-consuming to place properly. Somthing like replacing the candle wick or the light bulb or perhaps a harvester mining unit, something like that would be the best way to deal with it rather than the whole thing.

I've been an architect for a year, since launch, but recently dropped it. It use to be an exciting profession with player cities and new harvester experimentation ect. However that was half a year or longer ago. This profession is very stagnet and hasn't changed in months. We did get the bestine paintings 5 or 6 months ago, but nothing since then. I would like to return to architect someday, but I don't seen any reason to. It is just an old unchanging profession.

So I would say the number 1 issue would be to do something, anything with this profession. New structures, colored furniture, new harvesters, anything would do.

I agree. Decay would be a good thing especially for harvestors.

Additionally I have a problem with item organization and space. I think we need to have a "warehouse" structure where I can dump my components and items to organize that would hold 500-1000 items. Juggling a house that hold 150-250 items, factory storage of 100 items and vendors where items storage varys on your skill, just is not enough for a serious crafter.

If you're a small time crafter and want to make a Town hall, it would take 30 inventory spaces just to make one deeds (20 walls for town hall's) If you're a mass producer of stuff, you end up with crates and crates of components and resources. Either was there is just not enough space... or good space.

This is one of my biggest problems.

Thanks for listening.

Howdy tiggs,

Welcome aboard. First off, everyone keeps asking me to duel.. so i think that arch's should be given the ability to drop houses on people and squash em flat so they can win.

Other then that...

1. Item decay, there has to be something done about that. Otherwise eventually arch's will be out of business. Which wont really matter since everyone will have everything they need.

2. GCW involvement, (barring the house thing) I think we should be able to make special items to help in it , as one person mentioned earlier, "turrets", or special fortifications using walls. Extraprotection enhancements for outposts. Like a DE, using a composite armor segment to add extra hp to a droid, have it do the same to a kit you can apply to your forward outpost to make it more secure.

3. Colorization, I like the large curving couch, but yellow is SO ugly.. Let me make it black.. or blue.. or even pink if you have too.. but yellow :shudders:

4. Paintings and special schem items.. we need news ones. Like one of the painting that hands in the theed staport as you walk out of the loading docs. I want that painting

Thats all from me for now.. Thanks for listening.. and see what ya can do about the house droppin thing will ya?

I always thought a good solution to factories and houses would be to make them more of a rental item where the architect that crafted them would recieve part of the maintainance costs. So for example if a harvestor requires 1000 a day to operate that 500 of that would go to the original crafter. Basically getting paid for someone to use your product. This would also lower the prices on the initial sale and get more people wanting to harvest there own goods which would produce more demand for the harvestors. More harvestors placed, more income received.

For me, I want to be able to offer colored furniture.

However, I want to be able to color it like droid engineers:

- Color it in crafting and

- Have a post-craft color dye kit.

I say this because I don't want to craft every piece of furniture individually like tailors.

I would go insane if I had to craft 50 different couches just to have one of each variety in stock.

I want to be able to craft furniture in a given color to make factory runs and then allow the customer to re-color it in the style they want.

However, this dye should have a limited lifespan but look better than most of the vehicle paint (which looks like a bad spraypaint job).

Oh, and welcome.

Well everyone wants decay so our customers have to keep coming back, but that's really just a greed issue. We'll make more money that way but it really doesn't make the profession better otherwise. Since I know architect isn't going to get a revamp publish I'm not going to ask for fancy things like new houses or color customization either. All I want is our factory crates to hold more items. Currently components like power cores, walls,or structure storage modules only hold 5 or 10 items in a crate, even though we need to make 100s of these items at a time. This leaves us with a large organization and storage problem. If all crates were changed to hold 100 items then crafting would be so much simpler, while not making the profession less challenging or giving us an unfair advantage over other crafters.

From a dev point of view this change can be easily implemented, no coding, just change a few variables. Also it would help the database load by eliminating a good portion of the extra unnecessary component cratesarchitects have laying around.

I think we need new floor models for Corellian houses. Corellian houses are General houses with a different name except for one house (or is it 2?). Some variety would be excellent.

Alsothe ability to change colors for furniture would spice things up a lot. Right now all furniture has no choice in colors. Let's liven it up a bit here. Also, new things to make like plants and tables and soon.

Ore Mining Units to go back into crates like everything else would be nice...larger resource and crate stacks (as mentioned above).

Currentlyin player owned buildings, a lot of people store things in rows of backpacks lined up against the wall and storage type furniture is just a decoration.

It would be nice if things like dressers, bookcases, armoires, cabinets, chests, etc... placed in buildingscould hold 25-50 items each so people could use those instead of backpacks or just randomly dropping items all over the floors of their house.
