Hey all! I"m very new to the profession and only reached Novice Architect over the past weekend. I have a noob question! A very noob question. Just for the fun of it I was crafting every single new item I had schematics for in my furniture category and noticed I needed something called a EG power something or another to make a torch. I looked EVERYWHERE in all my crafting tools - even built the crafting stations, and I cannot find the schematic for this item. Who can make it? I perused the bazaar to no avail.

Yeah, I understand its only a torch, but it irks me that I can't make it ya know? LOL

Oh and if you have any advice for a noob besides the question I asked feel free! I play on the Valcyn server and am already enjoying this profession immensely!

Okay, this has to be a noob question, because I haven't seen a post about it yet. What exactly to I need to being to be able to even look at the crafting schematics for the Heavy Harvesters? IE: What tool/station combination do I need? Specific level of something else that I don't have? Currently, I'm going to stay spec'd 0/4/4/0 in the Architect tree to make this character actually playable in PvE. Is there something that I'm missing? Just a noob question, sorry for the ignorance.

You need to use a structure tool at a private structure station in a player house.

Thx Pawlin.
Since this is the place to post stupid questions, I'm going to post another one. I know crafting stations go up to +45%. I tried making just a basic one and got it to +14% w/ just the bare minimum of resources. Now for the question, does the effectiveness go up as I add more of the optional pieces to the stations? And if so, is there an idea of how much a percentage per optional item added? Also in regard to the optional pieces, what exactly are they for? I see some are control modules while others appear to be droid storage comparments.

I think this will do it for stupid question number two. When I come up w/ more, I'll come back, at least until I dismissed for being too ignorant.

Yes the effectiveness goes up when you add the optional components. Check the FAQ in the Architect section, there is a link for a tool there that will calculate the benefits of the parts specifically. I think the droid storage compartments determine whether or not the station has a hopper. But the other parts just increase the quality. NOt totally sure, I make the stations using all the parts and haven't tested to see if the hopper needs all 3 or just the droid storage compartments. To get the highest rating stations you need all the parts made as good as possible. There is more detail on making crafting stations in the FAQ.

Thx again Pawlin, I will look into the FAQ. I would have checked there first I actually knew what I was looking for to begin with.

Hi I just got novive architetct yesterday so I am real new to the proffesion. I have archtitect 0/0/0/0 and am wondering how it is for me to master. I really need architect mastered because I have a friend wanting to buy a city hall and a guild hall. What do I do?

Thanks

Ok, here's the strategy I'm using, after reading the FAQ and several threads (including one that should be stickied and isn't).

As a master artesian, I've kept max harvesters in the field (aside from my house lots) since I could make them. Main things to pile up: Ore. More ore. Lots and Lots of ore, and then some more ore after that (watch the type though! Some sub-components require specific ores). You've got 100k ore? Not enough, go get more. LOTS more. Quite a lot of Steel (maybe 1/3 compared to ore). Aluminum (about 1/8 of ore). Reactive gas, a bit of Inert and a fair amount of fiberplast. (maybe 5% total compared to ore). Hides optional but several thousand if you plan to make any furniture.

Granted you don't have to have every single piece on hand to start, but if you don't have a lot, you're going to bottleneck fast.

Start on furniture items.Make a coulpe of dozen pieces; stick them on a vendor. The cash from those sales will help fund your harvesters. (I'm also novice rifleman and run missions every day). MakeStructural Segments. They're 500 xp per. You will need plenty; generally around 30 per structure, so don't use practice mode, and keep them all. You'llmake a box of xp in four structures worth; three tools and a macro make it a piece of cake.If you run out of room, assemble ten of them into a Wall Module. Thats more xp.

Take Buildings I(small houses)*first*. You need the Structure Storage module from this box. Make a house or two if you want, and stick them on a friendly vendor. I don't recommend it though, if you can avoid it; you're going to need those wall modules. Keep making Structural Segments; about every Wall's worth (ten), make a Generator Turbine. About every third Turbine, make a Structure Storage Module (not the small one, although it wouldn't hurt to have a few of those, depending on what you're going to make early.

Keep making walls until you get another box. Now take Installations I: Factories. You could make a bit of money selling these (I actually gave my first to a friendly doctor, but then I like getting heals). Otherwise, just pile up the walls, generators, and the occasional Storage Module, Light Ore Mining Unit or other subcomponent.

Installations II: Medium Harvesters, should be the next box. Start taking those earlier components, make better harvesters, and any bottlenecks in supply should be eased. Now it's just a matter of preference. Take furniture and make some in a factory to sell; make houses to sell, or sell the factories;whatever. Or if you got plenty of money just hang on to everything you make and use it to make more stuff. Maybe your guild wants the guild stuff. Maybe furnitue is a big seller. It doesn't really matter, as long as you remember: from this point on, if you're doing Arch because you LIKE it, blow off the hologrinder strategy of gungan statues, and emphasize what you want to make by handand can sell. It's awfully tempting to make your Structure Segments in a factory, but then you don't get xp for them.

I'm still mapping out the exact path I plan to follow in the upper end boxes, but master Arch is a possible goal; I may turn aside with a stockpile of harvesters and go for armorsmith (depends on the revamp). Nevertheless, the key element in the early strategy is to take Buildings I, then Installations I, then Installations II, unless you have several hundred thousand in ore (and other stuff in proportions specified) to start
