Thread: Ore
Yeah every 8-10 days it's suppose to re-randomize all the resource locations, and sometimes remove some resources completely, and add new ones. Happened on Kettemoor, Naboo twice over the past two days.
Eclipse Server - Planet Naboo - Around Keren
Where is a good Ore Vein. I put my first 3 harvesters on 42% vein of ore.

For the last month, ore concentrations on Chilastra on Tatooine have been spawning in 30%-50% range, and only under all the cities
I haven't had much of that problem of late, with all my recent ore spots being around the 67% mark. The good thing I have noticed though is that the recent ores have lasted a lot longer than normal (I have 15 x BER14's going at this 67% spot for the ninth day straight - and even had one harv actually fill up!!!).
Did my ore reserves a good thing with that spawn. ![]()

Well I have 8 BER 13's on a nice 72% of ore and I can usually find a 68-70 spot if needed, just involves driving around tatooine for an hour. Does anyone bother with static harvesters for ore?..I tried some out with a server trade but only have em on a 20% spot right now. Im just hoping this works out cheaper than 2cpu I would normally pay...until a better spawn of something comes along of course.
Ive been buying my radioactive recently, usually at about 1.5cpu rather than mining.
Frenzi,
A BER 13 on a 20% spot will pull in 3,744 units a day (a bit more or less depending on 20.xx %)
The cost of maint on a heavy is 2,160 cr/day (less if you have Merchant : Efficiency IV)
the cost of power at 1.5 cpu is 2,700 cr/day (that is power at PE 500, the costwill be less if the PE is higher - formula for PE is PE/500=Power units, with a min of 1, so PE 750gives you 750/500=1.5 power units, PE 1000 gives you 1000/500=2 power units and so on).
So worst case is that the 3,744 units are costing you 4,860 cr or 1.3cpu. (of course I have not counted in any cost for renting lots or for writing down the value of your harvesters - this last you can safely forget, as that is sunk cost)
You could always switch your static harvs over to something else with a higher concentration or higher value and either sell these resources or use them yourself instead of buying in, this works as long as the value of those resources exceeds the value of the ore you are currently pulling. For Example, if Ore is 3cpu on your server, then the value of the ore you collect per day is 11,232 credits, as long as you can pull another resource where the value is above this you could switch and buy your ore.
For example if grind alu is valued at 2cpu on your server, then you only need to see it at 11,232 (ore value) /2 (alu price)/1440 (ticks per day)/13 (BER) = 30% for this to be better value.
That is of course if you are bothered by it.
Cheers bud, saved me working it all out. ![]()
Alas there wasnt much else to harvest over 20% so I stuck with ore...ill be happy if a 50% spot turned up but I guess thats the gamble with static lots. I save a bit of cash on the ore and eventually itll pay off the harvester cost, but even at that rate the extra 200k of ore a week is appreciated.
I still think we should be able to get 85%+ spots tho...why does SOE hate us so.![]()
