Thread: New ideas for Architect

For Merchants:

1. Specifc structures for shops (something styled nicer than the standard houses that can only be placed by Merchants) or a mall type structure for Master Merchants with shops that can have separate admin controls for each room so you can rent them out to other players (not my idea - somebody from the Merch forum had that one).

2. A variety of display items: cases, racks, mannequins, shelves...

3. Let us make the cool modular counters you see in every NPC building! I'm tired of using cafe tables and structure modules...

4. Bulletin Board - similar to a house sign but something you place on an internalwall (like a painting) and can access through the READ command on the radial menu. Merchant can input a limited (but liberal) amount of text so they can have instructions, custom price lists, etc. displayed.

For Crafters:

1. A 1-lot Warehouse structurethat can be placed by Master Crafters that has a high item count (and a remote interface that allows you to access it from inside whatever structure you do your crafting in).

2. Specific crafting style structures like Laboratories, Workshops, etc. with some pre-built decor (somthing like the civic hospital building) - again, only for Master Crafters, or have smaller ones for lower level and larger ones for higher level.

In General:

1. Let us color furniture (even if it's only certain types) at the crafting level.

2. Change potted plants/trees to be similar to the Gungan Head statue in that at the creation point you can choose the final type of plant/tree you want to make. Anyone elsebored with only three plant types?

3. More data terminals for decor.

Super Wish-List:

1. Spacecraft hangers! 1-lot, 2-lot and 3-lot versions (each taking up a similar amount of player lots). You can "park" up to three of your ships (with the 3-lot) potentially through the radial menu on the datapad object. When you enter the building it is simply a large open structure with the appropriate number of landing spaces, and a model of your ship(s) placed in them (similar to the faction bases). They could be strictly for decorative purposes but maybe (big longshot) have a starship terminal within to launch into space from there (lol, I know... biiiiiig longshot). Each should have the appropriate number of item slots per player lot as well (and perhaps an office room as well, what the hell).

Wow, i started my account back up after i canceled back in 2003 (after the 30 day free trial expired when u purchased the box). I relized this is my second week in after my reactivation and i am bored already! What is with the devolopers? I started a artisan, made my way to novice architect and now i am stuck building crap everyone builds and i am not enjoying it for one moment. Not being able to change the color on your couches is a big deal! COME ON, thats what helps me sell clothing as a master artisan is the choice to choose colors for the clothes, and its not even the full range of colors that a tailor can choose but it makes it worth doing. Its the fact that there is no real difference between the product i make and another, thats what makes it dull. The second thing is the range of products, why o lord why is it so hard to create more items to make? Thats what being a crafter is all about, making things. If i cant make lots of stuff of different types where is the fun? If they made more items to the list of schematics EVERYONE would enjoy the game more from the crafters who make them to the fighters and guilds that will use them. I would hold off deactivating my account again if this was something they would put some heart into and deal with. They would cut out complaints by crafters by giving us something to do (not to mention a little backpat from me). This is on the top of my list as 1 things i dislike about crafting.

very true, on both points.

One of the great plusses is that you can now survey and place harvies while on your bike or in your vehicle. I dont even get off my bike anymore. This way if something comes to kill me, I ride away and try again when they walk away. Only thing that really bites is when you find a nice concentration within "bad" terrain that you cannot use because there is a lair nearby and you dont have the skills to clear it out lol

like krayts. Or perhaps on a hill where there isa 98% concentration of good stuff and the nearest placable is 90%. Ok, ok, 8% isnt that big, but its pretty darn close to perfect.

Community crafting projects? Ive seen these on vendors, but for some reason they dissapeared off the vendor search after a couple days. All i know is that it looks like a turret/gun. Can anyone explain this? I doubt its just our server (Ahazi).

The community crafting projects were for phase 3 of the Aurelia Villiage. The crafting mission is a community crafting project.
