Thread: New ideas for Architect

I am sure someone has posted this stuff before, but a search turned out nothing, so I thought I would ask.

Is there any chance in you guys getting schematics for many of the items that exist in the game? Not necessarily furniture (which you should) but things for cities, like walls, fences, possibly a Lambda shuttle landing site? I think doing this would add a lot to the game, and make player cities look nice and not just like a collection of houses around a shuttleport.

There are a lot of things they should add, that don't necessarily have to have functional value, but will look nice, and add to the star wars experience.

I would have thought giving Architects some new garden styles would have been a great way to publicise the new expansion

kashyyykian gardens in three styles like we have for dath/dant & endor atm

not only does it give architects new items to craft which we so need also politicians would love some new decor for player cities

this benefits everyone including soe as the gardens would be a great big advertisement in the middle of major player cities

would be nice but I don't hold out much hope we are the forgotten ones............

If you can get your surveying done and a harvester placed make a master combat prof freind an administrator that way he can pick up your resources for you. I'm a Master Artisan/MA/SW so i really have no room for any combat profs so i make my alt (a MBH/MC) an Admin. so he can pick up my resources for me. That is what is my way to work around gettin attacked and killed.

You bring up a point drewpey. I think Architects should be able to build launchpads, not just for the Lamba Imperial Transport Shuttles, but also for personal ships. You could display what ship you fly and show what your style is. You could repair your ships from the ground. However, the starports could be used if say you live in a city or somewhere where extra space for a launchpad isn't permissable. Maybe a decay effect could be added to ships parked on the ground from say ground or wind erosion. I would like to see some new house styles, furnitures, walls, windows you could see in and out of, and many more things. Architect needs more content. I am getting tired of being Architect, building the same things over and over.

A great idea that should be revisited is to give us a "drilling platform" structure. This could be placed offshore and used with any heavy mining installation. This would do several things. It would free up lot space on a crowded planet, give architects a much needed new structure to build for the community, and now that the job of surveying has become dangerous for non-combat types (with the CU "upgrade"), we could be surveying in the relative safety of our speeders on the water where there are no creatures trying to kill us.

I really like the landing platform idea, though I think smaller ships should be able to land anywhere there is level open ground and also on the roof of our Guild Halls. This would be added incentive for people to own a hall and would be more business for us also. I'd love to be able to walk upstairs and see my X-wing parked up there (not disappearing like our speeders do).

I have to agree with all of you. I am relatively new to the SWG experience, but you can feel the age to many of the crafting skills/items. New content, even 'useless' scenery like a launchpad would add to, not detract from, to the overall 'feel' of the game. Star Wars, let's face it, is as much about style as it is story or combat. All of the crafting professions need a facelift. Although if we are making a list of items an architect could benefit from:

New to this... (tabbed to early) Sorry.

1. A lauchpad (as you have discussed)- or even a starship port - imagine being able to fly to your own city, rather than trudge across the wastlands to get home...

2. Streets - One of the basic structure components that moved civilization from grass huts to cities was the basic road - yet we can't even make city streets or walkways

3. Pools / ponds

4. Color modifications to furniture. (are you not all tired of the same purple loveseat?)

This is but a small list....

I know in EQ2 we had a thread of items in game we saw and wanted them to implement to allow PCs to craft...is there one here?

It had everything from furniture to misc table items. The item is already in the game and artwork is kept to a minimum, so it would be easy just to implement and allow someone to turn it into a deed.

Just an idea I guess...

Excellent ideas!

I was thinking street signs would be a neat thing for the cities. As of now, most mayors ask to have the streetlamps named the name of the street. I'm sure an oldish looking street sign or something even more imaginative would be easy to implement.

Come on devs. Give us more goodies.

im a retired arch from the start of swg i think new types an styles of house would do some good to. if it was not to difficult to go out now adding quest for schems would be a neat idea instead of just looting schems u could do quest for them. an for shops ad counters to some house an have like stuff u can put ur product on to display or u can make mini products to put on ur conter but that idea is a little off lol about the mini products. just make shops more like a shop then just a emty room alot of times with npc's standing there an maybe if the npc's could sit in chairs would probably work behind counters. just some ideas for architect.

How about a veteran reward that turns a temporary loot schematic into a permanent schematic?

Ooo...I like that. But they'll never do it. Can you imagine someone using that on an Agitator Motor schematic or some other really rare loot drop?

the launchpad idea is nice, its been tossed around when JTL came out. Doesnt hurt to talk it up though.

Massive community projects- Like have a library, starport, lake, etc. Be a multi person, multi week project taking lots of resources. Also, there can only be so many schematics per server to limit the rarity. Kinda like a treasure hunt. Also, only buildable in player cities.

Streets....not a game breaker...but would be nice.

More plants/paintings/etc.
