I believe like everything in your house gets destroyed once you pick it up, the items in your crafting station's input hopper will also be destroyed. I have alot of stuff in there so I am not up for trying it out. Also I have a Crafting station whout using the droid storage compartments and I still have an input hopper. Bug maybe?

Input hoppers are a little .. . . . unstable. They were removed from the game about a week after going live because they were randomly eating resources. Then as of the big patch they went back in. You USED to have to make a crafting station with the optional components to access the hopper, but now the hopper is there wether the optionals were used or not.

I haven't seen any of these new hoppers work though. They're also NOT that useful for resource storage because they COUNT AGAINST YOUR TOTAL NUMBERS IN THE HOUSE!!! So. You can but your stuff in a buggy hopper where it might get eaten, or you can just put it on the ground in the house, where it might get bugged, broke, and eaten, OR you could leave it in your inv/pack/bank, where it is relitivly safe, until they put in item insurance again, and it'll get eaten

Hows this to add to the confusion on the hoppers:

I had a fully loaded station.. it was crappy quality so I built another fully loaded one and experimentd, used best resources, etc.. got a 60+ on final assembly, etc, and it came out worse than the original (-4.1), so I dumped them both, and made a basic, no frills station with good copper (994 cond) and got a 99%, which resulted in a +14.something..

The kicker? it still has a hopper! I checked it last night.. still has a hopper, still at +14.. and I guarantee that there is not optional components in it.. I destroyed the 2 with optional components because of the -3 and -4.1 on them.. never had a +14 with optionals so I know it is not one of the old ones mixed up..

Just curious did you use experiment on all the components as well? I got one that was 17 when I experimented on the micro sensor suites but I had crates of control units and droid storage compartments so not sure what they experimented at. I have heard of people saying they got a rating of 20-30 a few times so I think if you all your components are experimented on then you can get a higher rating. But a station with good components is better than a stationwith no components but that is better than one with crappy ones. At least that is the way it is looking now.

Okay, I any a new Architect (Only have Building 1) and I decided to try this out. The input hoppers worked on my 3 stations that were made witout any optional components.

I also left some resources in the hopper when I picked it up and moved it, and they were NOT destroyed. I have not yet tracked my experimentation, as I have a lot of crappy material to grind with.

The items in the hopper also did NOT count against my house item limit.

BTW crobsahm, stand next to you r hopper and find the appropriate crafting tool in your inventory. Open the radial menu and hold the pointer over "Start Crafting". Another option will pop up. I did not add anything optional to them, but they all had hoppers.

To get the resources back out, open the hopper as described above, choose the resource to retrieve, open its radial menu, and "pick up".

I alos did not test the whole personal inventory thing with items in the hopper, will do today.
