Just wait it out. Everyone else has had to wait out the Eyeshot nerf. What goes around comes around.

im not flaming. But how is Panic shot getting nerfed giving dabblers a taste of their own medicine.

When they start spamming panic shot. smugglers will get the nerf not pistoleers. By smugglers i mean the ppl who plan on mastering it and actually being smugglers. I could care less if the Devs put an end to dabblers once and for all.

They are exploiting skills and specials used to balance professions so they can be tough and talk$hitin pvp to make up for years of having their milk money taken from them.

The outcome is going to be the same for every profession that has ppl only getting a few specials in it. The Profession will be nerfed because the Devs dont have a brain cell between them when dealing with "balance"

You act like BHs are immune to Eyeshot. Ive been hit with it countless times.

I'd rather have panic shot then eye shot any day of the week for a lvl 2 special.

Bounty Hunters rode (and still ride; Eyeshot hasn't moved yet)a long wave of being overpowered and are the last people who should whine about an overpowered move destroying their game.

Ok lets compare

eyeshot causes damage to mind. A few shots needed to drop someone. The target can fight back. Helmets protect.

Panic shot stops the target from fighting back. Plus what i've heard it doesnt have a timer like knockdown. Nothing stops this.

Explain to me why a smuggler should have the best pistol moves in the game?

In the right hands, Panic Shot is going to cause Bounty Hunters a lot of trouble in PVP. Welcome to the non-BH world of last month.

You fail to see that Panic shot is going to be in as many hands as Eyeshot was. In a month or two when they say panic shot and last ditch is going to be nerfed you will finally understand what BHs have gone through. When you hear Smugglers are too uber a hundred times a day and cant understand why these ppl who arent smugglers think they know your profession better than you.

in your own words "just wait it out what goes around comes around"

I hope you enjoy being the most hated profession because everyone is spamming panic shot in pvp.

I really get the sense that you're not reading most of what I've written, so this will probably be my last response. I'll make it in this freaky green color.

That's exactly why it's a nerf magnet, asI wrote before. I'd rather have Panic Shot than any other special pistol move in the Smuggler tree (though keep in mind, it's a cone, so it will aggro a whole group and even background groupsin PVE - not always the best option). But you assume that it is more powerful than it actually is.

You have heard wrong. Missing a shot seems to stop it from working. Considering that Smugglers get zero accuracy or speed bonuses, there is no guarantee that the shot will hit, or that you'll have any time to fire many shots during the delay. Also, it IS on a timer, just a separate timer from Knockdown. You can't spam it, but you can stack it with a Knockdown.

Explain to me why a smuggler should have the best pistol moves in the game?

I don't know. How about the popular Bounty Hunter rationale that "we're Hybrids so we should be powerful"?Maybebecause we don't have any other combat moves but a few pistol specials, even though we need to advance through both Brawler and Marksman to open up Smuggler? Maybe it's a trade of a few nice special moves instead of any accuracy, speed, or defensivebonuses whatsoever. I'm not endorsing any of those justifications, but those are a few I can imagine people would hold out if we were asked.

First of all, asI said,Panic Shot isnot spammable. Second of all, go to the Smuggler forum and check out a few of my posts. I've been fighting to balance the profession before we get whacked by a serious nerf. Some people are not happy about that, but a comforting number of people seem to agree that we need to address the overpowered Dirty Fighting line.

See here for more info, and feel free to make your own constructive suggestions on how to fix Dirty Fighting:

Speaking as a Smuggler, I think Panic Shot is the next big nerf magnet. It's in the second tier of Dirty Fighting, and my suggestion is to moveit to Master Smuggler to keep all the opportunists from sweeping in to pick the low-hanging fruit.

A lot of good it's going to do you since Warcry is just as effective. If the intent is to nerf panic shot then warcry just became a very attractive target for anyone looking to get a 10 second delay. In fact, warcry is so low on skill points to get that anyone who knows how combat works would ignore Panic Shot completely.

Most accomplished meleers already know how to use warcry to delay attacks while they close in. A goodbrawler knows how to mix warcry, and intimidate to help the opponent kill himself. Spamming specials while intimidated in PvP is like holding a gun to your head.

The only benefit panic shot has over warcry is that warcry is only a single target.

Panic Shot is 64m WarCry is far smaller range.

Panic Shot delays force sensitive NPCs every time it lands for me. Warcry never landed once.

However... in PVP: Warcry and intimidate land every single time on whoever I use it on.

So yes, NoviceBrawler > DirtyFighting 4 if you want to delay targets. 15 skill points versus hybrid profession hehe.

Yeah sorry, the Panic Shot series. Didn't realize I screwed it up here too hehe. I always mix those 2 up for some reason. Probably because I tested Pistoleer / Smuggler in beta3.

I agree that Warcry is a powerful attack.

However, like Dinian said later, Warcry is short range while Panic Shot is a cone, and reaches as far as a pistol can shoot. If somebody wants to pick up Warcry, no sweat. But the fact is, by the time somebody gets close enough to use it, they'll be in deep trouble from ranged attacks. It's a gamble, but I think that's an interesting gamble. My applauseto anyone who tries to close and use Warcry.

its not anyones fault, they, the soe or swg or whoever made the game made it skill based. This means constant balance issues as people move from profession and to the next. I am not entirely certain when they decided to make the game skill based that they understood what they were getting into.

I hope they are learning, and learningquickly as in the hope this game can become what its potential is or that games in the future will benefit from the experience.

I will be a master bh as soon as I dont want to throw my computer out a window on investigations. Its all i need to master. I dont care if others are better or worse. Its why i bought the game and when once I make it I might take a great big stinkin dump in box and send it to the devolopers so they can play in s h i t for awhile!

Anyways, I will be happy when they balance the game more effectively and I am very glad that its not my job to do so.

Dueled someone that had it several times, 10 secs was enough time to drop me while wearing composite armor (60s, and 50s resists). K your saying You rather have panic shot (dirty fighting 2) instead of the ones above it. That alone seems to show its too strong. I'm not talking pve im talking pvp

This whole post is about dabblers going for smuggling specials. Smugglers dont have bonuses but pistoleers do.

I don't know. How about the popular Bounty Hunter rationale that "we're Hybrids so we should be powerful"?

BHs are designed to hunt down criminals. Smugglers to make spices and slice. No comparision.

I've been fighting to balance the profession before we get whacked by a serious nerf

From one of your earlier posts

Bounty Hunters rode (and still ride; Eyeshot hasn't moved yet)a long wave of being overpowered and are the last people who should whine about an overpowered move destroying their game. If you spend a bit of time being the victim rather than the victimizer, maybe you'll appreciate what every other PVP participant had to put up with while the Devs fumbled around trying to figure out what to do about Eyeshot. In the right hands, Panic Shot is going to cause Bounty Hunters a lot of trouble in PVP. Welcome to the non-BH world of last month.

Ummm seems to me your trolling BH forum to throw eyeshot being moved in our face

I wish that Hybrids could not be dabbled in. I hopw the Devs will wake up and make all professions be what they where advertised to me. I wish i could see the look on every single smuggler that came to this forum or sat in the cantina screaming BHs should be nerfed. When they find half the ppl in the game have Rogue titles and the other half want smugglers nerfed.

Again what goes around comes around..smugglers its your turn. Sorry to see it happen to you. But i never heard a smuggler say BHs shouldnt be nerfed. Welcome to the world of the BH enjoy

if you're near a crafting station you need to type /nextcraftingstage 3 times followed by /createprototype, if you're ot in the field then you only need type it twice. Has worked every time for me. Its not worth it on anything for selling but it does mean that if you have a mission or important quest item to assemble you will always get the item
