Thread: Urban Planner Scrapped
You can't place a shuttleport without a level 4 city so no one is going to be standing shouting they are selling one. An Architect will have to work hand in hand with a mayor and city to build these things. They will not be able to build them outside a city.
Being able to place has nothing to do with costs that low ballers will attempt to sell at. Yes in an ideal world the Mayor of a town will commision urban items from a Master Architect. However in the game world what will most likely happen is this.
Post on Server Forums: XXX Town needs XXX item
Hey folks we've raised the money out of taxes and improved our city to level 4 now we are looking for a Shuttle Port, I need some quotes who can make this item for me the cheapest and the fastest?
I tottally agree.... think im going to make a petition
At the very least someone should have to be Master Architect.
Acanis.....I certainly hope they do not cap any profession. That would be a complete disadvantage to the casual player. Plus if there is a cap, then next will be a cartel of those folks who can then "fix" prices to as much as they want......
Q's recent post says the player city structures will be in the Architect tree and not a new profession.
Q-3PO wrote: I notice that it says there is only one new profession, Politician. Does this mean you are putting all the Player City Buildings under Architect?
Skedoozy, that’s the current plan.

Hurray!
I'd like to see that worthless tier replaced with combat engineer.
Everybody wins and I don't have to give up the only offensive skills I still have to move into UP.
From what I've heard player structures require lots if placed by non-politicalplayers, so master doctors can own their own hospitals, andpeoplecan own their own Cantinas. Not sure about Shuttleports and other transport related structures. So it might be possible to drop a Shuttleport in your little group of houses... If you can afford the upkeep...
I agree, I think the shuttleports and higher ones should be MA only.
Hey, I will GLADLY take a mount that can run at burst all the time. It will cut those 8-10km harv run times in half at least. That gives me more time to concentrate on other things.
Personally, I think vehicles should be added to the DE profession. The high end really fast ones should be Master DE made and the slower ones down the line.
This is just one more example of the devs not delivering on what they promised. Right now we have lowballers killing this profession so a mayor finds a lowballer when he needs a shuttleport.
Mayor: (shout) looking for a shuttleport for my town!
MA #1 I can do ya one for 150k!
Lowballer: I can do ya one for 50k
If the devs just fold UP into Architect, I'll be very disappointed. I thought they had some level of creativity. As I said before, UP could be a very viable profession IF they were involved in the maintenance, growth, and actual planning of cities. If they simply place urban structures into Architect, then cities come down to a mayor and little else. I say make UP something hard to be. Make it elite-elite. I'll give up my Scout skills and my Weaponsmith plans I can actually be involved in growing our city instead of simply grinding out a few extra building types.
