Thread: Lighting decay, the un-expected effect.
The original poster is absolutely correct. Speaking as a customer who buys a lot of things from architects and has bought many candles in the past to decorate, I doubt I will ever buy another candle again unless/until some kinda fix comes along. With 10 lots and a yacht worth of lighting to replace, it's just too much work. It's not the money, I am happy to pay for some alternative that doesn't involve placing everything all over again every few weeks...it's just way too much of a hassle and absolutely no fun at all. And I dunno what the Devs think we play for, but I play to have fun. ![]()
And by the way, I think the light switch idea is an awesome one. Lighting controls would be fantastic, great thought. I would definitely buy that kinda thing for my houses. ![]()

Or how about just adding a light bulb element? That way we could sell something and we wouldnt have to re-position complex furniture placements every 30 days. Food for thought.
The first though I had when I started to read this post was yeah I can see not wanting to go through the hassle of replacing them. Then I thouhgt why can't you just recharge them?
Well of course why would you need to recharge them your in a house with a power supply, not in the wilderness. Your idea about bulb replacement is very good. I would like this to be considered.

You want something that wont burn out, you can always buy some torches...
Half of my torches disapeared as well as all my lamps and candles.
Deorwyne
of course i wase'nt all that happy about all my lights going out and it took quite a long time to place them properly.
perhaps this would be a good idea.
1. should have left it alone.....<of course that idea is out>
2.make craftible Light bulbs of some type so you can revitialize you'r lighting without having to make the whole fixture that is in the perfect spot.
just a thoguht.

Can someone sticky this? ![]()
This is exactly what I had suggested the first time lights were implemented, since I knew that I (being an avid decorator, not an architect) didn't want to have to /move up /move down /move left /rotate 45 once a month to put a lamp back on my table just the way it was. You guys should be petitioning, loudly, for lamp batteries, not decayable lamps. Personally, I won't be replacing the lights that suddenly vanished from my buildings until I'm assured I'll be replacing them for the last time.

Very good point. While the devs may have had good intentions for Architects with the candles going out, it certainly makes the game less fun and doesn't help the profession.
I'm sure Architects and their customers would agree that being able to add maintenance to the structure or something similar in order to automatically replace the bulbs or candles would be better. Or perhaps architects could sell a "bulb" or "wick" pack that could be spent on a structure terminal to add life to dim lights and candles in the building. Or just being able to switch out light fictures so that you don't have to go through the hassle of moving them just right over and over. Lots of ideas, we just need some dev lovin'.
