Bone armor is in the Artisan line not the Armorsmith line. You do get experience from it, but only Artisan crafting type.

There are two main methods for grinding to MAS. The first is grinding Mabari Armourweave Chestplates. The second is grinding AUK's until you get access to Ubese Shirts then finishing the rest of the way on them.
I'm not sure what quantities of resources are needed for method two, although I do know that it does not involve any sub-components, so it's easier to grind if you don't have the help of a master tailor. And just fyi, here's the list of total resources you'll need for method 1:
(For Syncloth)__________
Fiberplast______________88800
Inert Petrochemical_____22200
(For Armorweave Segs)___
Metal___________________31450
(Totals)________________
Total Metal_____________151700
Total Hide______________74000
Total Fiberplast________209050
Total Inert Petro_______49950
This includes all resources needed to make the standard armorweave segments (approximately 1875 to master), and the synthetic cloth (approx 6000 units to master)
And finally, the whole grind will take you approximately 30 hours to complete.
Hope this helps

Here's the list of total materials you'll need if you take the Ubese Shirt path: (Note: there's padding in these numbers to allow for crit-fails
)
For AUK's:_______________
Metal (any type):________47,500
Chemical (any type):_____25,000
For Ubese Shirts:________
Iron:____________________105,000
Steel:___________________157,500
Fiberplast:______________55,000
And yes, I am serious on the 30 hour call. As that's about the average from what I've heard from others, and it's roughly the amount of time it took me to get there

Well, I have always wanted to be a weaponsmith but was always too lazy to do it. Tried to become on the second month of SWG but didn't have the credits and wanted to try out everythig. I have decided the 4 combat characters is more than enough and decided to make one of them a weaponsmith/merchant. So I was wondering what the quickest way to get from novice artsian- Master Weaponsmith.Any help would be awesome!

Well, first, congratulations on seeing the light and wanting to be a WS. You won't regret it
Anyways, a philosophy and then a method.
It's fun to be a novice type WS for awhile, i made good money making low-level weapons for friends of mine for free and then asking them to pay for future weapons. Now I have a huge customer base and I make weapons to order. So before you go and try to make the big bucks as a MWS, help out the little guys
.
That aside, I think this thread is the best for learning how to grind once your a Novice WS:
http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=weaponsmith&message.id=27156
In order to get there, all you have to do is get like 6 Weapon, Droid, and General Crafting Tools so you can run them all at once and start as an artisan making survey tools. I think flora is the easiest and yields the best XP, though I could be wrong. You should be able to get to the novice WS tree in like an hour. After that, the guide you see there is a great resource. Obviously, you're going to want to grind grind grind, but always remember the first philosophy, it's nice to help out lower levels by giving them cheap/free weapons and then getting them the ub0r 1337 weapons later when they make it up to mastery.
Just my two cents. And under today's economy, that's not very much.

I have logged in maybe 4 or 5 times since the CU and I haven't gotten 1 bit of xp and have died or almost died each time. Can someone please explain to me, or give me a link to a thread that explains how to hunt now. I got my ass kicked by 3 level 17 hurrtons and I'm a level 50 jedi. I don't know how buffs work anymore, I don't know what food to eat, my force bar is draining like CRAZY when I use the few specials I have left. I don't understand anything anymore and am thinking about canceling my account because of this.
Help me Obi-Wan Kenobi You're my only hope
