What percentage of my vendor sales are from people who are replacing harvesters that they lost due to lack of maintenance?
About 50% of my harvestor and factory sales are replacing ones that burned down. It's about 90% of my repeat business, for obvious reasons.
Furniture and houses are less than 10% replacements for failed maintenance. People want a change of style or moved somewhere incompatible with their old house, or maybe they're truly new players.
A suggestion - make the "automated bank draft" for houses only, and perhaps factories. Harvestors are "dumb systems" that don't have a link to the Banking Guild's satellites.

But, but you getting new loot decor schematics. Doesnt that make happy happity bouncy bunny?
/sarcasm.
I think it's perfectly reasonable to have maintanence draw from the bank if the structure DEGRADES in some way. They would need an architect to REPAIR their house with an appropriate kit that needs about 3/4 resources as a new house. Harvs should still die and degrade. Repair possible.
Untill decay is implemented there should be no maintanence from the bank.

I know the change was made to help the players that are forgetful, so they don't lose their precious items. However, in my opinion, paying maintenance is just another part of the game, and one that shouldn't be automated. What they should have done, is make it possible for the owner to retrieve his items from the structure once it has been flagged condemned, but they won't be able to use it otherwise. That way people don't lose their items, and structures still get destroyed eventually (because people can't use them). It's not a perfect solution, but it's a bit better than the other, in my opinion.
remember "condemned" means that the 5 Mil Credits on the bank account are already eaten up ...... so what yousuggest is granting them a chance to retrieve their items after doing absolutly nothing for maintainance of their property for 18+ years ...
cool ! I can resign from any ingame activity, get a family , grow up my son, and donate him
my medium house on Gorath on his 18th birthday ..... LOL ..... and if it happens that i should forget about the house, when my son opens my testament, he will find out, that i inherit him all my property and that he still can retrieve all the property from this house except for the house itsself .... anyone any more questions about the future of the architect profession ???

What I think I meant was, when a house is flagged condemned, it can still be used again when the owner enters it with enough credits. However, what they should do, is only let the owner retrieve the items, nothing more. Maybe add a mailbox or something outside which functions as a terminal. From this terminal they can only retrieve all items, or destroy the structure.

I am going to be starting a thread on this subject and a few more concerning the latest patch to test.. It is very Important that as many people come back and discuss on that thread.. It should be up when I get home from work in about 4 hours.... So please take this time to gather your thoughts and get prepared to make your case...
The most effective posts are small to the pointed paragraphs so keep that in mind.. I will be forwarding the link to this thread that I create strait to the devs so keep short and precise
Like our thread about the furniture colorization? Like our thread about resource stack sizes? Like our thread about the Bestine museum paintings being broken on some servers? Like the thread about fusion experimentation being broken for over a year? Like every other thread we've had about issues existing for months that all get absolutey ZERO RESPONSE FROM SOE and get NO ACTION WHATSOEVER????
At some point SOE needs to actually fix one of our issues.
They owe us that and then some.
You should all know I'm not upset with Dvnce. He's doing what he can. I'm just tired of the complete and total lack of action or communiation from SOE on our issues.
I hear you Pawlin and I aggree with you 100% but like I have said in another post there IS a ton of Activity happening especially since the addition of the 20 new members to the SOE team.. It really does seem that SOE is finally taking serious their claim of Listening to their subscribers....
I have a strong STRONG feeling that we (architects ) will be VERY happy pretty soon... ![]()
A lot of credits in game are brought about by people with static lots mining anythings and everything that spawns beneath the static harvester,
I for one have 4 large house deeds numerous med deeds and a load of harvies of just about every shap size and type, but that is now for nought. Tey will sit in the bank to rot.
I wont have to make new ones, I won't need to harvest the resources etc etc. All the time the title holder has money in there bank the things wont go anywhere.
Rather like furnture that doesnt decay (gets nuked when a house gives way) the onky repeat business i get is a few lights that people move after the burn time is gone.
I will have no need for ore so the suppliers will fold, the will not therefore buy miners nore will they bother powering or maintaining them
I oredict within about 3 months perhaps less the galaxy willnot fall under the shadow of the dark side, more like the pall of smakoe from all the knackered harvester.
Fortunatley I have an alt who role plays a Ranger MCH so I will have somethng to keep be happy for a while.
All the ingame professions are simbiotic of the others. if one suffers drastically (and we will) it wont be long before the other crafter and then the end user will suffer too. Mayor will go virtually potty at not being able to do anything abot the players that just dont sho up ever again.
And I was just geting into the swing of archi too. bugger it

Because all the stuff that we have been put thru that we have yelled screamed and hollared about, have simply fallen on deaf ears.

In other words, he's bound by a NDA and is trying to hint that there are big changes comming and he has a rough idea what they are.
