I was just wondering how much energy a chemical harvester needs to operate.

Thanks

Radioactives - sample or harvest them.

Wind Energy - use a Wind Power Generator

Solar Energy - use a Solar Power Generator

I know that wind gets 5 as a base output and that most wind areas are in the teens or low 30s. What does a solar have for a base output and what % levels have you seen for solar. (ie is it better then wind) As a side note does a solar gen make power during "night" time?

Thanks much, I couldn't find anything on this subject in the Holocron or the Manual.

Wind Generators have a base rate of 5 for 1440 credits/day.

Solar Generators have a base rate of 8 for 1440 credits/day.

As for %'s, I've found up to 50% Wind sites, and higher in Beta. Wind/Solar power seem to be similar to Ore's in how they're distributed. You can find the higher areas, but it might take a while chasing down 1-2% gains.

And yes, Solar's generate power even at night (think of it as the solar panels store heat/solar energy during the day in capacitors, with the generator converting it into useable stored energy all the time).

stupid, its impossible to find good wind concentrations. Best I got was 36%, so I'm making only 5 more power per hour than my single personal ore miner requires per hour.

Fusion when you get up there high enough.

I don't understand how to tell how long the power will last in a harvester. It says so many units then (0:13) or what ever the number means. I have figured out it's not minutes. Can someone explain to me how this works?

Thanks in advance,

It's in [Days]:[Hours].

Mine says(0:57) or (3:43)

I think the algorithim needs to be fixed.

Unless they changed it, it's not in days and hours. The first number represents 60-hour blocks. The second number represents hours. So if it's 2:15, then it's (2) x 60 hours + 15 hours = 135 hours.

My guess is it is the second number is hours, and the first number is hours*60. So, 1:11 would be 71 hours (60 + 11). I can't promise that is right, but I think it is.

Do harvesters require a certain type of power resource to run off of ? Someone in my guild bought reactive gas under energy from the baz and the harvesters do not recoginize any power when trying to add. Even if the items says it has a potential energy. Is there a way to tell if an item can be used as power or is it just wait to find out when you try to deposit it? Or is there a bug that does not let you put any power but wind in a harvester?
