Burgundy, I just realized that I have sold items to you when you were coming up the lines in the past. I did not know that you were having these concerns. Give me a tell in the game and lets talk. I really want help you to get over this. I really want to help you get over what prices players used to get for our products andsee realisticly what they can be sold fornow. You know I have sold torches for as low as 400 credits and I still make a good profit. I can not keep them in the store at that price and have had to slowly raise them to 700. They still fly out the door. It only told me that they had to be priced much higher at otherplaces and so they were.

Do what I do. buy up all that cheap stuff off of the bazaar, and off of vendors, and then sell it for your prices. it might take some time, but, it's actually quite fulfilling and humorous. They're getting what they apparently want for their work, while I'm getting about 3-4 times that amount just for clicking a button that says "retrieve item"

Anyways, it's a great way to keep people from undercutting your business, it's a great way to make a profit on their work, and to keep your prices stable.

enjoy!

LOL I wish DW Acer was on my server

I had a guy do that with me once, what he didn't count on is that I contacted my customer base ( I keep all thier names ) and let them know that I was still filling orders and WAY below other prices and would fill thers and thier friends orders ASAP and to spread my price list around the galaxy.

I sold him my stock, took back orders from my own customers referals enough to keep me busy a couple of weeks, inthree weeks Iwas totally re-stocked and filled allthe back orders and Iam inviting him via e-mail to empty my stock again, He replied that he had not got rid of my old stock yet.

I about fell over laughing. If he does it again, I may take on another archetect partenr so we can just have him buy stuff while still filling our other customers orders. I bet I can empty his bank acccount if I can get enough harvestors running.

I dont know where these guys learned business from.

well, what's even funnier is when they buy back their own stuff. I had a guy buy back a small house from my vendor because he needed to "deliver" on a promise to a customer...imagine his chagrin when he examined the deed and found that he was the one who created it! So he emailed me, and we had a fun little discussion...he had to buy the small house deed from me for 8k, and I felt dirty selling so cheap.

But he was selling it for 3k, so he wanted me to give him 5k, because it was, after all, "his" deed. I told him to just make another house and leave mine on the vendor...turns out, he didn't have enough $$ to keep his harvesters going, and had no materials. Buying ore was prohibitive, so he just wanted to get a deed. I laughed (to myself, i truly wish email could convey my feelings at that moment though..) and told him that an extra 5k per house deed probably would have kept his harvies running!

Anyways, all kinds of fun with that...and i don't do furniture anymore unless it's for myself, a friend, or a previous customer....ohh, the fun.

have a good one, folks.

I don't even figure out what it costs to make furniture. I just choose a random number to sell for and toss it in the bazaar or in my vendor. I usually only make furniture when I'm bored, for friends, or for people that buy houses from me. I didn't realize that people make a living by selling furniture. It seems like such a boring profession with the limited styles to build....but then again so is building houses

Idea for furniture:

There should be like 200 items of furniture to build. A master architect ends up with 50 randomly distributed items that they can build. Maybe they can learn to build other items from different architects or something. I don't know. It seems pointless to have every architect able to build the same items. Kind of debunks the entire furniture profession................and **edit** about not having customizable furniture?

I charge common sense prices. Would you pay 1000 credits for a small plant? No, they dont do anything! Why pay that much? So what if you can get that amount, doesnt mean you should. I charge at most 100 credits for those. Large plants 200, Trees 250. Armoires have been flying out of my shop at 300 credits. Couches, Divans and other like chairs can go for asmuch as 500 credits. I mine my own resources and dont have a PA feeding them to me. If you think this is seriously hurting the profession then this profession is not right for you. Things are way over Priced. And quality is poor. All People wantMoney and so things are overpriced. I sell a lot of furniture at low prices and make my money in bulk. If you cant compete well.... Maybe you need to look for a better way to get your resources. I'm a scout too so get my hides for free. In fact I'll do missions and get paid to get the hides.

Almost every night, when I have time I will put 15 to 20 things on my vendor. By the time I log in the following evening, everything is sold.Profit all around for me.But of Course I'm Picolio Furnishings and if it doesnt say Picolio it doesnt say Quality.

I just got master yesterday, Here was an exchange I had with a player (bounty hunter I think) shortly after (close approximation)

Player: Can you make torches?

Kales: Im sure that I could...

P: How much are they?

K: 2k per torch.

P: HAHA thanks ill find someone else

K: Sorry, its not worth it to me any other way

P: Whatever...

K: If someone offered you five hundred credits to walk for five minutes and kill two durnis, would you do it?

My point is, that furniture is aggrevating to craft, especially those that require components.

Am I off the wall here, asking that much for a torch?

I just feel that hes not paying for the torch, hes paying for my aggrevation in crafting it.

Any input is welcome...

I constantly have to do Electronics GP Modules for Droids anyways and sell factory made torches for 800 credits - they sell like hot cakes to be honest as they are rarely in stock anywhere it seems.

I believe your totally right, if its going to be 'effort' to build then you should be compensated for it. All I ever do is say to check my vendor in a few days and make a run of whatever in some spare time. What many people seem to disragard is that being a crafter is at the expense of being in combat, which is large part of the game. I believe that there is enough money out there to charge more and its in competition with each other that is proving costley to us Architects

Furniture can be lucrative. There is a master on our server who has specialized in it and done quite well.

I think the better thing to ask is if you like doing it or not. I'm not really fond of making furniture myself so I generally don't put much effort into it. I keep a vendor stocked for our mall but thats mostly just to round out the offerings in our mall. If I ever get around to it I'll probably make a few crates of the more popular items so I don't have to keep making them when they sell out.

I charge 800 for a torch. In general I make just about most furniture items I carry in the factory. Make a schematic, run 20-100 of them (depending on how much they sell), tuck the schematic and materials away, and put everything on the vendor. I'm starting to leave more and more things crated - people don't save any money on them but they get some great convenience. So I have 5-packs and 10-packs of torches and plants on my vendor, and 4-packs of a lot of the chairs and end-tables. Seems to work out pretty well. I always have 2-5 singles of those too.
