So none of you think it's worth sticking it out to check out the city planner profession? (Word being that master archi is a pre-req for it.) I'm not thrilled with the current state of affairs either, but the city expansion has me curious.
I don't think our city will need a master urban planner as I doubt we'll get that large, but depending on how they and cities are implimented I'll be checking out at least part of the tree. I don't have any illusions about making money at it though as I'm sure every city will have their own planner for the most part.
The fact that so many are considering dropping architect after making their PA halls and buildings is encouraging though. I know that due to the PA hall requirement for a guild many folks felt forced to make an arhcitect for their crew's benefit. Just glad to see that a fair number of them are now done and ready to move on to another class, there may be hope for this one yet.

I'm not dropping master architect any time soon, if ever, it felt like too much work to get it - but I'm not all that excited about Urban Planner. It's just another bunch of buildings you can build, you don't get to "plan" anything. The way I read it, only the mayor can place structures, so you can make all the suggestions you want but if the mayor doesn't want to lay the city out the way you think it should be, too bad. There is no way I'm spending points on Urban Planner *and* Politician, either - I was hoping to do something fun with my character.
