I hit master architect and i realize its a retarded other than the large housing line. My reason aremaster architect furnitures are alot uglier than the average ones. Second Construction is useless. Third i have lots of friends with plotsand i just have them place personal mineral havesters for me, so that means installation is useless. Lastly, Master architect is only good for making PA Halls, buti think selling for 400k is way to **edit**ty. I wouldnt even bother making a PA hall for 400k because of all the hassle i have to go thru just to make it minus mineral cost as well and plus the competition from other master architects. So i think as of tomoorow im dorppoing my master architect.

I'm with ya.. i've been master for about 3 weeks, i've made 2 PA Halls. Now they are dropping in price rapidly. I could sell the resources for more money then a finished house. The only thing that has kept me from dropping master thus far is the Urban Planner Profession. Tho i dont think that's gonna be enuff. I have a pretty certain idea that by weeks end i'll no longer carry the master architect title.

I've been thinking about droppint Master Architect and Construction for a while now too. Mainly because I want the few points for other areas.

i made a similar post but got ripped up by all the fambois....

i did master this time just to do it....in beta i had more combat skills so i never bothered...

i am with you....no point to master...or construction

I am going to give it back and all the construction skills....

if i ever need it again it will just take byuilding about 100 crafting stations so no big deal..

it is really a let down compared to the other masters...everything i care to build is below it...Urban planner willl take more points and i dont intend to give up everything that adds some fun to my charcater

I am certainly not going to rip into you. I am not going to give up my certs yet even though I am thoroughly convinced that the Devs hate and riducule people who choose a crafting profession.

I am willing to give them a few months to fix my profession before giving up on it though. Something made them include crafters in this game against their obvious wishes. I can only hope that whatever force that was present then will again exert pressure upon them to fix out profession.

Completely agree with you all. I've been a master for over a week now, built about 12 pa halls. It just isn't worth the hassle and worry when building them, plus demand is pretty low now anyway. Been contemplating giving it up since way before I got to master, and finally decided to give it up once I build myself some heavy harvesters. Won't be surrendering the skills just yet, will wait till I run out of skill points then make the decision.

I'm glad to here I'm not the only one to become a master architect and think about giving it up so you can use the points to actually have an enjoyable character.

I would say the problem is not enough skill points - and it is in part, but when I compare this game to all the others it isn't that there are not enough skill points its there are not enough charcater slots. In all the other games you get multiple characters, so you make one to be you master craftsman and you make one to be you master killer. Here you are stuck with only one character so you need to try to fit master killer and master craftsman into the same mold and it just won't fit.

Well maby SWG will realize that 1 character per server is not enough if they want to keep the crafting classes alive. No body has the time to play on more then one server, and no body has enough skill points to make a good killer and good craftsman in the same character. So in the end crafting is dead because after making 100 houses, it comes time to go out and kill something.

Why are people selling PA halls so cheap?? I can understand the cut-throat mentality of lower ranks, since you need the experience, but.. As a Master, why on earth go and undercut the competition to the level of the lower ranks? It's just stupid.
I don't sell PA halls for less than 500k, I'm not that desperate.

As far as multiple chars per server being the answer: Totally disagree. There's a lot of people out there who couldn't care less about killing, so.. By the time the people who has to go kill has abandoned the architect professions it'll be less competition, and perhaps that'll make it more profitable.

I've been considering the same thing. I was a Master Architect/Master Artisan in beta and was one of the first few on Starsider in retail. The prices that things are selling for on Starsider are rediculously low. Too much work for too little reward. Plus, these critical failures on the high resource items just hurt too much with the price structure as it is (just crit failed on a heavy mineral harvester last night).

I've got my PA and city built. Those were the main things that I wanted to accomplish. I haven't made a PA Hall in weeks. The prices are just too low for the work involved. I'm not sure what I want to put the skill points into if I give up Master and the Construction tree. Probably some sort of combat skills I suppose.

I became Master Architect on the 11th of July and I untrained it last week.

Its more lucrative to just sell the ressources on the bazaar for now. Not to mention the endless tells you get asking you for structures you cant deliver half the time cause your low on ressources.

Ill leave the low selling architect get overloaded, perhaps if prices come back up, ill retrain it.

Obviously, it would be alot more fun if the quality of ressources used and experimentation would affect the performance of the structure you build. SO Joe Shmoe could buy a cheap medium harvester from a novice architect for 10k but could also purchase a top quality medium harvester from a Master Archtiect with double the performance for 50k as an example.

I feel your pain, I've been Master Architect/Master Artisan for since July, and it's just not worth the hassle or skill points. That's why I have bought a second account, and decided to play that as my "combat" character. No need to have both accounts active at the same time, but there's also no need to get rid of Master Architect, seeing as in the future they will spruce our profession up for sure.

Like Witek, I have two accounts. But my first was combat oriented, until our guild needed someone to Master Architect. Now that our PA Hall is done, and most people have the houses they want, I can put my Architect into semi-retirement and play my Master Scout / Creature Handler / Pistoleer

So none of you think it's worth sticking it out to check out the city planner profession? (Word being that master archi is a pre-req for it.) I'm not thrilled with the current state of affairs either, but the city expansion has me curious.
