Thread: Impending catastrophe with Schematic Limit of 100
100 is good for final assemblies.
However many items require multiple components.
Thus I would make compenets at max component requirement x 100.
A thousand would cover all components.
Or just allow job queuing. Lets be fair here...we can travel from galaxy to galaxy have mastered gravity and DNA and we cant program a computer to make 100 bricks and then .... do it again !!! Duh !

I see a problem and I'm an independent architect. I run 200 structure modules a night typically. Since this takes several hours I do other stuff while it's running; often I run them overnight while I'm sleeping. It's bad enough I have to babysit the factory to make walls. I don't have much desire to do it to make bricks as well.
Job queueing as suggested would fix that, but be realistic here. Given the choice between a simple solution (setting the schematiclimit back to 1000 or even 500) or programming a whole new system for factories, which do you think the devs would do?
Speaking of babysitting the factory, one of the other in dev notes says that factories all pull from crates now. Apparently they aren't aware that factories do not pull structure modules from crates. It would be nice if that could get fixed sometime soon because loading bricks is certainly a pain.
I wouldnt mind a 100 limit if structure factories didnt use 2 lots.
Not only do our issues get ignored but they nerf things that actually make it a wee bit easier to play this class.
And to those of you crying that it doesnt hurt you...you might find a day when you actually can make more than 10 walls per day. Im on my own and I can do it.
True, setting the item limit back up to 1000 is the easy solution, but I'm assuming for the moment that there's actually a reason they lowered it to 100 and don't want to raise it (and I don't really have enough faith in their communication to believe we're going to find out what it is anytime soon). I posted suggestions for new factory functionality on the Artisan forum under the mindset that they probably aren't going to change it back, so let's find ways to ease the pain. Are my ideas likely to get implemented? Probably not. But hey, it was worth a shot.
(Oh, and Anya... for the record, we're not the ones who are 'crying'. Heh.)
well, I don't recall who it was that said my setup was so different... I harvest all my own materials except for a generic metal... i still pull in plenty of ore to make around 200 structure modules everyday. It can be done...
My opinion? yes, I like the 1000 item schematic limit as it makes it easier... but changing it to 100 really has little effect on me... so i do one run when i log on... and another when i log off... not gonna kill me either way.
Independent architects can do just fine in this world... is it more difficult? maybe, but there are ways to do it... I can't believe I'm the only independent architect that has had some success.
The big question is what does limiting schematics from 1000 to 100 add to the game? Will people simply not use the resourcese they gather because their schematics only go up to 100 and never make a second schematic? That is what they are hoping for to save on db space. Truth be told people will make just as much, however the game will get rather annoying doing so.
This adds nothing to the game and only makes the gaming experience poorer. If there was some advantage or reason maybe I could see why to do this. Otherwise it needs to be 1000 or even 10000, not that anyone will ever use 10000 schematics often. So 1000 seems right to me.
I personally think the factories should stay at the 100 limit and not go over that amount. Saturation of the market takes on new meaning from players that sell to cheaply because they have access to more harvesters than the game intended to allot.
100 structure modules takes approximately 2 hours to 3 hours tops to make now. What is occuring is most of the architects that make more than 100 items, push the 1000 limit on structure modules and then not only do so in one factory but in 2 other factories also. You essentially have architects with 3 factories producing 3000 or so items which amount to 300 walls which amount to 50 Large harvesters.
I refuse to sell harvesters to anyone in the game. This has not hurt my business one bit and I make plenty of money doing houses and interior decorating. With one house and decoration (taking approximately 4 to 5 hours), I can make close to 600k. The amount of resources I use is far less than selling harvesters and inturn, I don't have to groan at myself for saturating the resource market like other architects trying to make a quick buck are doing.
Keep the 100 (maybe even reduce it to 50)

Sorry Im an A R C H I T E C T not some interior designer.
I dont groan when I see my harvesters being used. In fact I like it b/c I cant keep up with ore needs on my own and have been quite lucky finding people that will sell to me for 1.5 cr/unit because they know I will buy all of it and that I will give them a good deal on their harvesters.
Its great that you can do a couple of different things as an Architect but please dont hurt the architects that want to and do create all of our items granted to us for moving up the arch lines just b/c you have philosophic difference with building some of our schematics.
A limit of 100 is not very realisticwhen you get right down to it. Say I'd like to make a large house which takes 10 walls. I run my 100 structual modules, yay! Now, I could make the walls by hand but more often than not I'll fail one...If I were only able to make 10 more structual modules then I could have made a schematic to run the 10 walls. See where I'm going with this?
Now thinking ahead to Urban Planner....I'm willing to bet that those huge structures are going to take more than 10 walls!

Perhaps if everyone kept quiet about the bug, then it wouldn't have gotten "fixed." Silence is sometimes the best solution ![]()
This is simply another way for them to try to keep their one-legged, duct taped, busted A** databse running for another month rather than dealing with it directly.
There are three areas to schematic construction...TWO of them say you can make a schem of 1000 units. only ONE says 100. Therefore this was a TYPO! TYPO TYPO TYPO TYPO TYPO TYPO! IF Holo insists on calling it a bug then fine...THE 100 ITEM LIMIT ON THE SLIDER WAS OBVIOUSLY A CODING ERROR BUG!
THIS IS YET ANOTHER NERF RECIEVED BEFORE THEY BOTHER FIXING ANYTHING!
Oh wait, I forgot they are fixing the whole "gee I really wish my male character could go topless" idea that thousands of SWG players have been screaming for since June.
Now, Nerf/Not Nerf arguement aside, the reason I want to keep it at 1000 is not because I'm some PA Architect running 125 heavy harvesters (quite the opposite in fact), and not because I need to be able to make more than 10 walls a day, every day (even though I easliy bring in more then 20k of ore a day...I've got some heavy harvesters on 69% Carbonate ore...you do the math how many it takes to get 20k a day) But because I don't want to run to my harvesters every day! I don't want to run my factory every day! I like to do other things in this game as well and for the little time I have after work to play I like to spend socializing and doing small tasks not crafting, crafting, crafting! So, I make a harvester run every three days...when I get back I make a schem and run off several hundred strut blocks at a time. What about people who like to do things like this? On my harvester days I can have my factory running while I go to bed and when I get home from work the next day there will be about 400 strut blocks waiting for me in my factory. With schems at 100 I COULDN'T USE ALL MY ORE UNTIL THE WEEKEND! And even then I'd have to babysit my **edit** factory the whole time! I know several crafters who don't have much time to play during the week so they load up their harvesters to run all week and only do a run on the weekends or during the week if theres a shift. They run their factories the next week making items from the resources harvested the previous week. What about these people? This was the only way for a casual player to continue as a crafter...
Thanks for the resounding chorus of support for crafters devs....;(
