I've got 98% tools, 98% stations and only fail like 1 in 50 builds.

I'm on vacation and two nights ago (Monday) I got into the game for the first time in a week and a half. In the course of ONE HALF HOUR, I had FOUR *** 4 *** critical failures on building components....

The first item I tried to craft after getting into the game FAILED.
I did a few pieces of furniture and they went fine...
Then I started on some wall modules and had TWO FAIL in a ROW.
I took a little break and did some more furniture -- no problem.
And then I did another wall module - FAILURE.

So I quit for the night and haven't logged back in since. No one can tell me there wasn't a slient nerf.

Add another three medium harvestersto the list.

I rebuilt my crafting kits to 94% and added furnitureI since I failed on the solars, but still three medium harvesters tonight.

Two medium houses back to back last night. I had to shut the game down and walk away.

I build my crafters and stations with 999 grade aluminum and 940 grade chemical.

I get very few failures. I suggest you find resources in the upper 900's and craft all new crafters and stations.

We seriously need somebody to run some side by side tests on this story to try to get a final answer once and for all.

For most effective testing, I think we need the same person to make two separate sets of tools and crafting stations... one with highest quality materials possible and experiemnted to the max. The other with no experimentation and the lowest possible quality materials. Then make the exact same item over and over again using the same materials (I'm thinking structural modules, since they are at least going to be useful, but maybe something a lot smaller, not sure) and measure how many crits they get over a LONG run of combines.

PITA job to do, but my wife's out of town this weekend. Maybe I'll sit down and do it and post the results here.

I just have a gut feeling that these conclusions people are drawing are based entirely on anecdotal "evidence" and that the results will be almost identical. I think the crafting engine is just running a random number generator. I'd be highly surprised if the devs put any more depth into it than that.

I think its funny that everyone tries to justify how or when you fail. I honsetly dont think it has anything to do w/ whether or not ur tools are experimented with, or whether or not if you stand next to your 99% experimentcrafting stations.

THe way i see it is that all critical failures are random. Plain and simple. U cant avoid it, u cant do a little dance before or eat some crazy skill enhance muffins. It just happens.

The way I see it is the same way the guy that siad he would build structure components and generator turbines until his first fail, then move onto the multi-component items like wall structures. The is a very safe way of doing it, which I use sometimes as well. But, for me, I do most if not all of my crafting on the run... running from harvestor to harvestor, or running from customer to customer. What really sucks is that if u are crafting and get attacked.. u lose all the resources u were using during the crafting session.. so be wary

And I am a wookie, I dont think being a Mon Calamari helps all that much. Its all random... accept it

I had a bad 36 hour period where I lost alot of stuff and all on FINAL assembly.

Since that time I make new crafting tool evertime I go to do a FINAL and I use that. I have yet to fail on a final since.

I crit failed last night after becoming a novice architect (woo!)....it was on the final assembly of the first house deed I tried.

Disappointing, to say the least....

I justify nothing, I simply say what my results are with what equipment.

If you fail often, then I feel sorry for you. But your failures mean there are less of whatever items your are trying to make on the server thereby making those that are on the server more valuable. For that I thank you.
