You fools sound like you have poor stats.
To bad your parents never taught you any manners.
I do not think they are going to change it...... Every game i have played had a chance to lose all in crafting. EQ, DAOC, etc all had them chances. I remember when full plate came out for EQ and i was spending every dime i had to raise skills even though i knew 1 out of 3 tries would fail.
So ya stop whining about it. geeze credits are SOOOO easy to come by. without selling anything i make 15k a day just running a few kill missions. And umm atleast you CAN MINE for your resources and not have to pay cash for them like in all other games. My harvestors bring in 1 - 2k worth of resources a day (depending on quality level) and that is the little eng III and IV ones. And if you are Architect I or II and don't have atleast Pistol Specialist etc (a level 4 attack rating) then umm you better get with it to make some cash when you need cash. And yes you can play without fighting but on RORI all of a sudden our main town has been surrounded by pirates and I am soo glad i got my Bone Armor and some Pistol skill to make it through to my harvestors.

"I have built about 20 houses. I have never crit failed on any other them. Maybe one or two struct mods."
I fail on 1 or 2 struct mods per house. The biggest failure I had was when I was making a moisture vaporator (the one at novice architect) and failed on the generator turbine, that was over 2k resources down the drain, but I went on to sample for the rest of the evening, and was able to make it a couple of hours later. I agree that there should not be a complete loss of resources. When a seamstress screws up on a dress, does she throw the whole thing away? no, she diassembles it, cuts out the bad parts an reuses what she can. But, I'm not saying I'm gonna quit if it stays this way. In my oppinion, this game has the best crafting system in it since UO (and in some ways better than UO).
Ouch on the Factory.
The biggest failures I have had are three Walls. ![]()
One house (small)./shrug
(I am fearing for my Medium House I am about to build) ![]()
Half a dozen structure modules. /shrug
I feel your pain i lost a factory a small house and a wall. OUCH!!! Well i got mad at first really mad. Then i sat down and did what i do best build build build. Got another small house and now jsut need to sell it. But man did that set me back I was just to the point where i was gonna do factories and medium houses exclusively.
Morquat - moenia merchant ........Bria
I failed a smalland med house plus a factory so far..Its part of the game if you dont like it you should have chosen another craft to work...
Not trying to flame anyone but its like movie critics they go on and on about how if they were the director they would have done Blah Blah..If they know so much why dont they direct thier own ,movies..
I have built 5 small houses in my short career and I've never crit'd. Here's why (I think), I only use the best components. If 3 types of ore are available I pull the kind that has the highest toughness for structure modules. If I don't get at least agreat success(16-20% pre-experimentation) I don't use the module. When assembling the house for the other components I only usethe oneswith the highest durability I can make or find. Component quality makesa big diff in crit rate of other things. I experimented a LOT grinding my 33k and it is true. So it must be true forhouses as well. I've also never crit'd on harvesters come to think of it and I've made afew dozenof those.
Oh yeah and before a grind session I gas up on food and drink and completely heal myself. Maybe doesn't make any difference but it's easy enough to do.
I agree with most of what is said here on modifying the crit rules. Losing all the resources for an entire factory at the final assembly stage just doesn;'t make any logical sense.
I heard a rumor that the change they made to increase the crafting crit rate was unintentional (i.e. a developermade a slgiht boo boo). The guy thought"crit events" in sampling had to do with crafting, not sampling resources. That's why after the patch we all noticed big increases in our crit rates.
If that's true, I hope they change that part of the patch back.
