Not only will this let lighting be less of a hassle, but many people put the candles in decorative Paterns, and chandaliers(sp) , ect ect...

I mean who would want to re-do a very inticate pattern every 30 days lol?

Great idea

Many of us have said it and I'm just repeating it. If lights and candles are going to decay properly now, then we really need light bulbs or candle wax / wick replacement items. If we don't have this than many / most customers will simply not bother replacing their candles and lamps because it will end up being too much of a hassle.

Without light bulbs / candle replacement a customer will have to replace and reposition the entire unit. The act of moving the item in place can big a BIG hassle.

Without a replacement part the decay might actually hurt us in the long run as more customers just abandon our products.

i think if you click on a burnt out candle/light and have an identical type of candle/lamp in you inventory you should get a replace option on the radial and it uses up the item in your inventory to replace the burnt out one.

I like that also. Maybe it could work to "recharge" the placed item back to it's original lifespan and then destroy the one in your inventory.
I'm sure it would begin to get needlessly complicated if you tried to actually exchange objects. The positioning alone would be nightmarish.

However, just "recharging" would serve the same function as a lightbulb/wax "kit" without requiring a new item be added to the game.

The only real down side I can see is that if you're using a 10-day candle to recharge a 14-day candle, but then honestly is it that big a deal?

Ye I said replace but really in the code it would just recharge the light not actually remove the light then replace a new one. If that makes sense.

As for replacing a 10day cadle on a 14day burnt out one. I dont see that being a problem. Somewhere there will be a number on each candle of how many days left it has. So if you replace a 10day candle on a 14 day burnt out one it would just come back as a 10day candle.

Making it go back to its original full life would be harder Id think.

Also if it did go back to the originals full life (even with a say 1day candle) architects would be making very very poor candles for cheap resources because they would recharge fully (and making a lot of money off it )

This is one of the most inconsiderate changes in a while. Were they so stupid to believe people would just say 'f-it' and go buy tons of candles and lights to replace all their burnt out ones. Of course not! No one is going to do that!

Just another time sink... keep us paying our monthly subscription to replace candles... sheesh..

lol all I have to say is holy crap hahaha

all the hours people put into decorating and they're making candles decay, lol.

geez, but yeah, perhaps it wont be that bad as long as repositioning everything isnt necessary. either way i can think of a million things id rather do that to go around fixing candles. I assume this will affect streetlamps as well? Sorry, this is news to me.

Avoiding replacing all lights may not even be an option now sadly. I just popped back to the guild hall and ALL lamps and candles are no longer burnt-out.... they are gone, deleted, removed since server up.

Guess all the houses I use to make up the town center can stay blacked out for now. Replacing all that lot is just not worth the hassle.

You may want to check yours and see whether its just certain buildings, or burnt-out lamps/candles have been deleted across the board.
