I cheated and tacked this onto my merchant bug report.

I like that also. Maybe it could work to "recharge" the placed item back to it's original lifespan and then destroy the one in your inventory.

i think if you click on a burnt out candle/light and have an identical type of candle/lamp in you inventory you should get a replace option on the radial and it uses up the item in your inventory to replace the burnt out one.
I'm sure it would begin to get needlessly complicated if you tried to actually exchange objects. The positioning alone would be nightmarish.
However, just "recharging" would serve the same function as a lightbulb/wax "kit" without requiring a new item be added to the game.
The only real down side I can see is that if you're using a 10-day candle to recharge a 14-day candle, but then honestly is it that big a deal?
Nothing more to add...think everyone else covered it nicely

This is one of the most inconsiderate changes in a while. Were they so stupid to believe people would just say 'f-it' and go buy tons of candles and lights to replace all their burnt out ones. Of course not! No one is going to do that!
Just another time sink... keep us paying our monthly subscription to replace candles... sheesh..
lol all I have to say is holy crap hahaha
all the hours people put into decorating and they're making candles decay, lol.
geez, but yeah, perhaps it wont be that bad as long as repositioning everything isnt necessary. either way i can think of a million things id rather do that to go around fixing candles. I assume this will affect streetlamps as well? Sorry, this is news to me.
