Thread: Criticals:Sony's punishment for architects
guys,
I do NOT have any critical failure since i macro for 3 whole weeks!
I have shared and adviced my guildee and they were amazed.
Churning out heavies after heavies. hand assmbled walls. etc.
I'm a happy girl now in flurry ![]()
Next you have to remove all your clothing, and put on just a hat. You target your personal crafting station, lay prone, whistle at an R2 droid and use a macro that calls up your friends list inbetween each stage of the crafting process. Then....
Come on, guys. It's a random number generator. We've tested it to death. Some people get whacked with the RNG bat pretty hard some nights, and other times you'll go days with nary a failure. Every time, somebody tries to affix the blame (or credit) on this or that thing.
I had another guy tell me he always logs all the way out and back in each time he does a large combine because he "*never*" fails on the first attempt of the session. Next time he did it after telling me that he critted. You *do* crit on the first attempt, but it just happens so infrequently (just like it's infrequent that it would happen on the 63rd try exactly) that it *seems* like you don't.
If I remove all my closthes the wife dog and cat run screaming ( or barking and meowing ) out of the house, they neibours wake up and call the police.
There has to be a better way!
Ok - just had my very first crit on a heavy mineral. /sob I know this is just part of the architect's life, but man ... that stung.
Good motivation to upgrade all my tools, though. Lol

I think its funny how someone gives you the answer with using a macro and you ignore it and go back to OQ of resources and other "myths" to reducing fails..OQ and other #s on materials mean nothing i tried with the best stuff and get worse results alot of times...
I have used an ingame macro to do the final build stage on all parts and and structures...My results are that i have made over 400 items with 0 crit fails..Please put away the chicken bones and rain dances and use a method proven buy many players..I see no #s in any post to prove that anyone has gets 0% fails using better resources and i never will..The macro works so use it..

hehe
Just kidding..The developers stated that this macro is the same chance of fail as hand doing it but they also told us that crit fails were reduced with last patch :-)
here it is..

Im pretty sure thats it im not in game so i dont have it infront of me..you start by using your tool as normal ,chose the item to build, and then add the materials you want to use..instead of hitting the button to start the other 4 screens of the crafting you hit the macro..This macro is used to speed the last 4 menus down to a fraction of a second and complete your build..You cant use this for practice mode and it wont let you expieriment but you should note an improved build rate..Like if you you have 10% fails it should go to 0..30% fail rate it should go to 0 :-) Like i said it was stated that this does not take out the chance of crit fail but i have not failed in a month so i use my #s and not thiers..
Sorry Viper, I was laughing too hard at that first macro to answer in my usual way, I will try hard to get back to normal.
Idont love critical failures any more than you do, but I dont think we should be exempt from them either.
My opinion, but that opinion is from a game design perspective not as aplayer Archetect opinion. Wehn talking aoubt game design components you ahve to step out of your in-character role and look at it from a whole game perspective.
You think you've had problems? In the past week I've lost 146,000 resources to final combine crit failures using high quality resources, +15 tool and +35 crafting station.
Large house, medium houses, lots of heavy harvesters, few factories.. I have crit failed half of every final combine I made in the past week.
Architect corrospondant: This needs to be issue #2 right behind decaying products.

Well from the posts i have seen since i posted that macro it seems this thread was not to discuss a way to fix them but instead for people to blah blah blah about how many fails they have..
In the future i will not posts productive materials to block up the whine sessions...
Rarek, I promise you I will try it as soon as I get home from work.
If it works you will have one faithfull follower of that advice. I have a hard time believing it, but I am more than willing to try it.
JehtBlack - it happens. Sometimes more often than others, but right around 10% of the time.
If you crafting 1million resources worth of items, expect to loose 100,000 of them in crit fails.
This makes absolutely NO difference whether you're an architect making heavies, weaponsmith making Scout Blasters, or a smugglermaking spice.
Sure, a weaponsmith fails with fewer materials, but they making many more items than we do - and they fail 10% of the time - more often (numerically) than we do.
I'm just glad I don't have to crit fail while using ultra-rare copper that can only be found once a year at the bottom of a lake on a far-off planet ![]()
Tamber, I agree 100%
We archetects do not deserve special exemption from crit failures.
