Thread: An open letter to development on behalf of the architect profession
/Agree
I have been an architect the entire time Ive played this game and though out the beta as well. I play an architect because I enjoy it. I love the creation aspect and seeing a house I built being placed and then walking though its halls in wonder.
While inherenting combat classess have always been more important in online games there are some of us who chose to play SWG without going that route. Our class deserves attention and expansion as well. I took a break from the game for a while and unpon coming back about a month ago I was disappointed to see very little new stuff to build. We are builders give us more to build!!
My biggest gripes:
- Not being able to put things on parts on of house the game considers to be outside! This is just dumb
Flag it as indoors or give us some outdoor furniture.
- Furniture colors. It was proposed quite a while ago but has not been acted on. Tailors can color clothes so why can't we color furniture.
- Lack of new furniture and buildings to build.
- Lack of any kinda of decay to encourage repeat business.
- I have always thought that all furniture and buildings should be made by us regardless of where it orginally came from including factional buildings and furniture and quest rewards of the same types of items.A schematic should be awarded not the actaully item. You take it to an architect and you get your item.
- The same with party rentels. Why can we not make limited time used items for parties. You want the credit drains associated with it then charge for the schematic that requires the services of an Architect to be placed/made/generated etc...
- More plant and flora options!! We have some labled so and so 1 so where are the rest
- A way to make the outside of buildings more unique. A color kit, a way to place something graphical on the outside etc... All Large Tatoonie houses for instance don't need to look the same. Give a way to let us give them some form of unique apperance.
- and finally though Ive said this already we need more houses, more furniture, more decorations, more stuff to build!!!
(we cant say wt*? thats stupid!)

all i can really say is my biggest peave is the lack of ability to put things on my roof or patios look on a guild hall for instance you got all that space and cant do anything with it?! also i got a question but why is there a 2nd balcony on naboian large just above the front door that we cant get to?
Ever notice that when you call your swoop, it kind of falls from from above? That balcony is where Brugar the swoop-casting Wookie resides to aid in our vehicular needs.

Wasn't he captured by the Imperials because he accidentally (or not?) dropped an X-34 Landspeeder on Lord Vader?
I still agree with you, but don't start claiming you're the only profession with this issue. That will make you look silly.

And then I'll add my own .02 credits. Architect is a difficult profession. There are two types of players in it: those who think it's cool to make stuff, and those who just feel called to it. The latter are the ones that stick. The others wander off to more profitable fields, like Chef or Weaponsmith.
1. We're the only crafters whose items never wear out. Droids
2. We're the only crafters whose items are identical in all essentials: noone makes a better house, or a different color of chair. (poss. exception of shipwright, I don't have JTL). Droids
3. We'reone of the few crafters to whom resource quality is nearly irrelevant. Droids
4. We need more resourcesthan any two of the other professions (again, shipwright possibly excluded). This means:
4.a. Architects need more storage room. I'm small potatoes and having a hard time with 2 houses and 5 factories. Droids again, 11 factory runs of components needed to make R3's
4.b Architects are the likeliest crafter to be swapping lots.
5. As noted above, we have absolutely no role in combat whatsoever, let alone the GCW. NONE. Well, ok. Technically the Combat and Bombdroids can be used, but the 1st is to weak and the 2nd is to expensive.
