I do it because I enjoy it. It's not about building an uber Medium Tatooine House or selling 500 crates of metal chairs, you do it because you enjoy building things. I will admit that it's a bit depressing to sell stuff that is nearly identical to every other Architect item, but if you're looking to compete at such things, then this profession is not for you. It's one of those things you really need to enjoy doing in order to actually do it.

Don't get me wrong, I love crafting. I have master Shipwright, Doc, Weaponsmith, Artisan, Smuggler and now Architect that I craft with. I like crafting more than the combat aspect of the game.
I originally posted because I was stunned by the seeming lack of attention we are getting from the Devs. That and there's no one to compete with. Your small Naboo house will be the same as mine, whereas a Weaponsmith has bragging rights when we build something amazing.
I'm not dropping Architect, on the contrary, I'm gearing up to build 3 cities within a 1000m radius. (My eight accounts allow me to have 3 politicians) I'm planning to start in four months or so. I just find it odd that my greatest crafting accomplishment will come from a profession that has had very little attention in the way of new content.

I diversify my business. Generally with high end resources, though I'm auctioning a CA at the moment. It's at 10 mil right now.

There are a few reason why I love architect and why I can't seem to give it up.
Decrorating.. I find it very annoying searching all over the galaxie for the many different type of funitures and lighting to make my house fabulous.
Now I can create anything to pretty up my shop/house. Its a dream come true.
Harvesters... yep.. harvester...
I have to confess... I like harvester
They are so useful... mining all those Ores.. Ores.. Ores...
I love the fresh smell of a well cooked deed in the morning. There is nothing like stocking my vendor with a bunch of harvester knowing that all the resources mining, surveing, running away from durni, making my friend blow up a lair so I can put down the harvesters, has been all worth it.. has resulted in ---- a harvester ----
I know I'm not making sense but all the mining has drove me crazy, but I'm still happy when my factory tells me it has completed making x amont of items, it just make the lost of my sanity worth it.

Initally I did it for the fun...then I did it for the Harvesters...now I do it because sooner or later they'll give us some love and I want to have the 4-hour jump on those power-grinders who'll destroy ourfuzzy momentshortly thereafter
I kid. This is a great profession mainly because we are the base of everything you see. There's a true sense of pride in our work that few other professions can claim... it's not about the big cash, or the glory - it's about community building.

There are three types of people in this world; those who can count and those who can't.
... wait, wrong truism. Ah, yes! There are 2 types of people in this world, destroyers and creators. Almost every other profession involves destruction, or facilitites it. If I am not mistake, we are the only pure creators around. Noe of our efforts can be made to injure.
Having said that, I feel like blowing up some X-wings!

It's about the Harvestors... And ore. Lovely ore. Give us Ore, ore death,
Ore ore ore ore ore ore ore ore oooooooooooooooooore, wonderful oooooooooooooooore....
Wait, wait, the real reason I got into this was for the Bestine paintings. But I won't speak much of that here because it's been making me cry for 3 or 4 months.
I hate the plants. Really hate the plants. We hates them alot and now we have REPEATS of plants. /cry And never got the Lucky Despot. /hiss /claw /arch
Seeing cities built is a heck of a lot of fun.
There are indeed destroyers and creators. Or preservers and builders. Those who start, and those who keep, and those who break.
Furniture drives me crazy. I refuse to make structural modules, walls, and generator turbines by hand.
For my one architectural sin, I love making av-21's. I reground surveying for it. And we hates surveying yes we do.
Time to check the harvs...

I'm a complete structure geek. I need a hundred lots or several dedicated lot minions who do nothing but put up my structures.
A row of heavy moisture vaporators over there (cause they are cool) a Endorian garden square in the middle, surrounded by heavy solar collectors as a hedge (once again because they are cool) with Flora Farms for color
all encompassed in a compound of small naboo houses (round)
with an entire road of fountains into the center bordered by the square braziers with Sentinel statues in them.
Now THAT'S architecture *sigh* So much for my dreams..
Maybe I'll get to play with Kashyykkian Architecture after RotW. Will we need giant trees to put them in? Hmmm, maybe I can grow larger potted trees..
Me loves the potted trees, but the other plants. EEEhhhggg.. I feel your pain. I have never found anything the pot of flowers works well with other than covering it up with something and the strangely Audrey2 potted plant that looks like some kind of Trandoshan mating device...icky

ok time to chime in. you got it. arch can be boring if you havent played it right.i have clients that im in contact with all the time same as your weaponsmith. yes people do seem to forget us until they need us, but that gives me time to go off and do what i want. and for income i farm metals for all the weapons and armorsmiths out there. currently i am one of the largest providers of resources on chillastra server having 210 heavies up 24/7 and a little community of houses for storage.if arch is boring for you expand, network, or get out there and meet people.

Personally I think we should all give up ingame sales for homes and sell smalls for $5 mediums for $20 and large houses for $50 on the new Station Exchange!
