Thread: Stop with the low price please
Schwanke...
I wasnt gonna get that deep into economics...but you are right...they are completely different...
**edit** boards and the no edit
well the spread sheet lets you change the cost and gets the amount for you.
PM me if you want a copy.
Its ok Kaori, i dont mind reading about it. It IS an issue i have concerns with. Regardless of how you feel about it, the option is always there for you to skip this thread. Pricing WAS mentioned in the title so.... you came in on yer own.
as for the thread.....
I dont see how an equilibrium can be reached. The ones doing the low pricing dont face reality issues that a real company would have doign this. Namely, no architect in Star Wars is a miners sole source of food on the table. Without that kind of "pressure", who cares? They can undercut all day, they dont have the incentive to make a profit because it is after all a game. As long as their guild throws resources at them for nothing, they can profit by them. As long as they buy 2nd or even 3rd accounts, they bet materials cheap. Thats a fact of this game world. It isnt realistic and it never will be so dont expect the economy to work like Real Life until Real life penalties start happening. Take an architects food away because his star wars firm went bankrupt and he might take pricing a little more to heart. It isnt happening. You cant control who is behind the screen so i dunno.. do the best you can and hope these lowballers go belly up... if they dont you surely will.
I know you guys, it was sarcasm!! Sheesh.
And as far as the comment "we beat this dead horse once a week" I think it's probably more like 2-3 times a day sometimes. LOL.
Nods Kaori... i had not posted about it earlier but now im seeing medium chem harvesters sold for 20k and Ore sellers wanting between 5 and TEN credits per ore... why? Weap and Armor peeps that dont need huge quantities WILL pay 10 im told.. where does that leave us? Relying solely on our harvesters. Thats ok for those who are casual etc.. for myself.. i can burn through my materials in an hour.. now i have nothing else to do. At 3 per ore i "can" buy materials and almost break even assuming no fails etc.. but i really need to charge 4 to cover costs. I cant when people are charging as low as 2.
Dont get me wrong though. I think Architect is the best career, thats why i chose it. But if i need to master weaponsmith to make money to support operations... ick.
I dont need 1 zillion credits...However.. i trust Sony as far as i can throw them and when the time comes to buy an X-Wing or a TiE fighter.. i want to have the millions in the bank already. (not to mention that with no decay etc etc there is afinite number of sales that are gonna happen... when that dies.. expect a flutty of weaponsmith/armorsmiths to pop up.)
I charge by how much my time is worth to me.
I could not care less what resources are being sold for on the open market.
If I sell items then good. If not, oh well. I will simply keep killing Baz Nitch lair till the Devs nerf that mission. 10K per mission is definitly worth my time. ![]()
In all honesty, and I've said this 100 times....
98% of our "pricing" issues would be resolved if they had allowed the MINER class to stay in the game. Sadly, they yanked it in Beta.
If there were a ton of Miners out there, probably a lot less of us would worry about harvs on our own so much, and a lot more of us would have the same "cost" of doing business.
Just my 2 coppers.
