Hey Mor-dan do schematics like the FWG5 featherweight and the Modified republic blasters get mre than 1 use or can be factory made? Curios also abou the Crafters apron schematics and such as well... also has anyone check the bestine paintings yet?

The nerf doesn't benefit anyone. Credits are harder to come by now and, let's face it, this new stuff is useless. Looks pretty in a house, but you can't ride it around, fight with it, or consume it. Like over half what an architect can make, people buy this stuff because it's decoration, and that's it. Serves no function. So those of us who made mass-schematics (I made 1k runs for all but the bubble tank and technical console) will get rich off the inflated prices while the hard-working architect who didn't, get screwed. And what about the consumers? Yeah, yeah, you can make the arguement that faction furniture sells for 100k a piece. So? You don't see pre-nerf TECH Armoirs selling for millions, do you?


This is just silly. What the heck is the point of having Test Center if nothing is going to be implemented properly in live, then nerfed after a week????? Isn't the purpose of TC to get the bugs and problems worked out first? I know, I know, I know...I'm dreaming here, but come on! The Dev's are great for killing markets and screwing with the players. Shipwrights got screwed over with the changes to Firesprays (they sold great before the mass increase and no people are afraid to buy them in case they up it again). Architect have never felt the love...now that we do, the love has been turned to spite. I don't want to sound like I'm overly bitching. Just please, for ONCE, get something right! Spend more time getting something done properly before launching it, rather than running around playing catch-up.


There's no doubt I'm angered by these changes today. It'sa slap in the face. The excuse that limited-use schematics were never intended to allow for manufacturing schematics just doen't hold water. If this were true, the painting schematics would have been nerfed a year ago. The ONLY thing this nerf does is make the rich richer, and encourage even more camping loot spots. I just ran around Talus and almost every POI had someone camped out in front of it. Is this fun? Is this how the game is supposed to be? Gee, can I stand in one spot for hours, not doing anything, hoping to get one piece of loot that serves no function?? Please! Can I?!?

Negative. This hit live this morning. While it may have also hit TC, it's live...the nerf has gone through.


As to the topic above, I do agree that a schematic of 1000 items is excessive. Being able to make 100, or even 10, would be far more reasonable.

Check in this thread under the loot heading, this is from the IN LIVE forum.

They added it to the TC today as well so as not to have every one creeating the draft schematics ahead of time. This is live as of this time. Someoen said they made a table at lunch, but I know someone else said they could not make a factory schematic for the tech console after the servers came up.

Well I have to admit that I was dissapointed when I saw the frequency in which the loot schematics were dropping, and hoped for a change.... However I would have liked to see more uses to the schematic added. As it stands it's kind of point less to loot the schematic with only 1 use.... and that's it.

The loot revamp started so promising. New schematics for architects. Finally something different from the tired same-old same-old. A lot of puzzling, trying to find out what spawns dropped what. It was fun. And now they nerfed it. The schematics are single use. Before today, I could take a rare schematic and make a factory schematic, and have some nice decorative stuff to distribute to the guild. No more than fair after all, they helped with the looting and the gathering of the resources (tons of hide).


And now that is over. The schematics have been 'fixed' in such a way that you cannot make factory schematics any more. One use is it.


So basically, crafters have once again been put in their place. For the devs, we are crafting machines to serve the fighters. We cannot get most schematics ourselves, and any fighter who gets some truly outstanding rare schematic, will want the item for him- or herself. And I cannot blame them. But I do DEEPLY resent the mode of thought behind it. Couldn't they have limited the factory schematics we can make of these to 10? Or made the schematics themselves multiple use?


My thoughts about the development team at this point are only fit to get me banned. The combat revamp had better be REALLY good (and nothing even remotely like what Nimh picked up), because it won't take much more of this crap to cancel all my accounts.

Again, not true. The live notes and feedback thread by Tiggs (found here http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=in_live&message.id=40318 specifically mentioned this, "Fixed an issue where players were able to make manufacturing schematics for any of the items given out in loot phase 1."

Well.. What is the point of having it be loot.. Then? I mean it would take 10 schematics to make 10k of the items. not a very special loot to get.. It will be about the same as looking in your inventory to see a cdef.. Woot..


They should definatly be more than 1 use but not 1k. 4 or 5 should be adequate.


We were never intended to MASS produce in the manner that we do today.. the flooding of the market with items has more to do with the economy problems than the pricing does..

It sets the right expectations for us so we know a bug when we see one. If we keep getting schematics with an option to make a manufacturing schematic then it really doesn't give us a clear message that we shouldn't be making manufacturing schematics out of them. And if we know its broken from the start then we will be happy when the 'fix' it instead of all of us getting mad because they 'nerfed' it.

Warryyr made a good point in another thread, "They should have just made the couch, or the tech console, or whatever drop. They must get paid by the hour, to make purposeless schematics like that. What a joke."


If we can only make one, what's the point of making us craft it?!? It's not like special looted components are needed (such as with the AV-21). The only advantage I can see now is that we can make these items without names, or custom names. That's about it. We get to waste our time, resources, and effort to make a single item.

Well If you like I will get permission to say.. But I dont think you need me to do that.. Since this fix kind of shows you some insight.


I have been pushing and pushing (as well as others ) for loot to come in form of limited use schematics. and not the finished good. Which I think you all agree is the way to go. Factory runs being done on the Schematics Defeats the purpose of having it be loot.. Why not be a permenate addition to our craftable list. And.. One Use Schematics ( Unless something Extremely Big. ( IE High End Weapon )) defeats the purpose of keeping the Crafter Involved and needing Schematics..


What needs to be done is the limited uses bumped up to 5 - 10 max.. this will give the crafter an opportunity to provide decent stock of these items.. and not just be an inconveniance to the looter to get their loot..

And, Combat players get to profit insanely from our skills. And, if we try to get a piece of that pie, we'll get griefed for people who will claim that they provided the schematic -and the resources needed don't justify us charging more. In other words - we lose. Big time.
