I'm a part time Arch, and I'll never master it.

The whole problem that arches have, comes down to a grand total of one thing (decay issue's only here) and that is this stupid money sink called maintenance.

While I'll agree on maintenance for houses (people should not have to go through the hassle of constantly replacing a house) there is ABSOLUTELY no reason to allow maintenance to exist on other structures.

Simply put, you use an item, you use it up, just like the system used for weapons, armor, or pretty much everything else in this game. A far better money sink than maintenance, is not allowing it to exist for machinery/structures. You buy the thing, place it, and get so much use out of it, and then it stops working. If you want more resources / manufactured items, you are then forced to get a new one to replace it. Personally, I'd think 1 or 2 real time months is about right usage wise. Cost wouldn't really be changed, since you'd no longer be paying for maintenance cost's, and these funds would be used to buy the new harvestor / factory.

Bottom line is, this solution gives Arch's a permanent market, the credit sink would still exist, and the game gain's a permanent black whole to shove resources into (since Arch is the biggest resource user, this is a good thing).
